There was a lot to cover in a wild Pay-Per-View event from NEW, the 5th edition of Justice. Included on the night was a nice touch, segments entitled “What does Justice mean to you?” where members of the roster would add their own personal feelings and thoughts to the event’s theme. (4.0) Also, highlights from the past four years of NEW and Justice history were added throughout the night, which is always great to show historical moments for nostalgic reasons. (3.0) In the opening bought, the Young Blood Championship was defended successfully as Dixie Clement forced Blitz to submit in an underwhelming match filled with commentary that overshadowed the action. (2.0) Owen Gonsalves brutalized Frank Finelli with an simple steel chair enough to pin him, but it felt as if both men thought not using the chair to attack was against the rules. (2.0)
Jesse Styles and his bodyguard Leroy attacked Blitz following that fight and possibly broke his arm. (3.0) A good match between GAF and Reya Serra ended with GAF hitting the big splash for the win. (3.0) More action continued as Father Nathan and Xandor Cross went toe-to-toe and a misstep by Nathan cost him as he assaulted a referee who would slow count his next fall and allowed Cross to capitalize and win. (3.0) We had our first new NEW Champion crowned when Davey Dynamo shocked all fans and the NEW locker room to become the Television Champion. (3.0) Playing to the host city, the Green Monster “Golden Contract” match was loaded with challengers and while it was at times overwhelming to follow the match had a lot of action and a good gimmick. (4.0) It took an unbelievable finish to the Tattoo Match for Inkt to pick up the victory as he managed to throw Last Chance from the ring… and right into the tattoo chair. (3.0)
Backstage Seth Iser and Hazard have words when Iser made it clear he was coming for Hazard after Justice. (4.0) An underwhelming match between Bobby Backdoor and Judas Dathan resulted in Backdoor winning after a parade of midgets attempted to distract him. (2.0) Somehow Reya Serra had back luck and was struck by lightning without even trying to fly a kite. (3.0) In one of the more disappointing moments for me on the night, the referee seemed to forget the rules as Seth Iser lost the Boston Death Match to Roger Wright without ever being counted down for 10-seconds. (3.0) Before Patrick Jones can even get ready in the ring for his match, Drake Blake rushed out and assaulted him leaving the referee no choice but to call the match off. (4.0) With the help of Dixie Clement’s distraction (intentions unclear), Scarlett Styles upsets Al Envy to defeat the once longest reigning TA Champion. (3.0) A frustrated Al Envy gave his word he would come back for the TA Championship and make history again. (4.0)
The boss himself did battle in a Street Fight with Kronin that tested both men fully and was filled with close calls keeping the fans on the edge of their seats. (5.0) There was definitely blood and downright violence in the Torture Chamber match which really did not appeal to my tastes even thought it was so action packed. (3.0) Immediately after the Chamber, Unstable would hit the ring and introduce Vanessa as their newest member while she laid out Cera to send a message. (4.0) After a full 60-minutes of Iron Man wrestling, Hazard was not satisfied with a 1-1 draw and demanded the match continue. He got his wish and the result he desired as it took a pinfall in sudden death to retain his belt. (5.0) Johnny Stylez was not favored against Nocturnal in the next bout, which proved true to the results as Nocturnal won and became the new #1 contender. (4.0) Jesse Styles had matters to settle with the FBI as they came looking for him, but Stylez insisted on driving himself. (3.0) The NEW Championship ‘Two Falls of Honor’ match took off quickly and both men scored pinfalls in succession but the champion Matt Slater edged out Hunter Valentyne to become the NEW World Heavyweight Champion. (3.0) After that fight, all hell would break loose as Bobby Backdoor instigated almost a locker room clearing brawl. Members from multiple stables came out and were involved but the next Ignite would have to settle the tensions. (4.0)
