Jill Mathews: We are live back home at the NEW ARENA CHICAGO ILLINOIS!!!
Vince Walters: Ah a place I don't completely hate.
Jill Mathews: Happy holidays everyone I am Jill Mathews a long with Vince Walters and this is a special edition of Ignite called Demented Greetings!!
Vince Walters: Demented is fitting for this place without question and happy holidays send me gifts to my website I accept all forms of money.
Jill Mathews: Wow...Just wow..... Anyways ladies and gentlemen tonight is about action in ring action lots of it.
Vince Walters: In other words lets get to it!
Jill Mathews: Well, tonight is the night vince. Tonight we find out who has what it takes to be next in line for the BK title fight against Specter. Hammer and Omega part 3. The thing that concerns me most about this third and final match between the two is, neither man has really had a chance to recover from prior injuries. Both men are looking to end this one quickly and get in line to take on specter, but also to get some well deserved recovery time. Honestly, im not expecting too much out of this one.
Vince Walters: See, I disagree jill. I honestly think that both men are out to prove once and for all that they're willing to put it all out there tonight to show the world that they can take whatever is dished out to 'em. While Omega is locked in with his contract through new edge, Hammer is pretty much on his last leg here. He was granted an essentially show to show deal. No long term commitments, if he wins tonight, the only other match he'll have is for the BK title. He could technically go months without getting that shot, but at the same time, he won't step foot into the cage either. It's kind of a win, win for him.
Jill Mathews: Or a double edged sword. Because, there's nothing that says the next BK match will be the title shot. There's nothing that says he's actually next in line for the title. This contract basically conveys that he will get a shot at said title. Jordyn, in my opinion, kind of has him by the short hairs when it comes to the actual title match if he wins tonight. Frankly, I just don't know what to expect here tonight. Both men are hungry, and both know what the other has. Out of all the BK fighters, these two men know each other better than any either two facing each other at any given time. Three weeks, three fights. We're tied up at one a piece. Lord only knows how much more one fighter's gonna want a win over the other. Personally, I'll be happy when all this is said and done. Both of these guys look like aged meat right now. Their bodies bruised, and cut. Hell, most of the wounds from the first match up haven't even healed, let alone the second. One punch to the face, or ribs, and all of a sudden, boom, you're cut open, or you've cracked a rib even more... There's just no way these guys are gonna walk out of here with a bit of pep to their step.
Vince Walters: Well, i'm not gonna disagree with you there, Jill. But, much like last week, there's a lot on the line. Both men are tied at one match a piece. This is a winner takes all kind of situation, and if anything, the heart and determination that they've shown us over the last two weeks is encouraging. Whoever gets a shot at the belt... Deserves it outright. There's no random placements here. No Owen Gonzalves, or Ricky Cassels moments. These men know what they're doing, and they know what they want, the only obstacle is, who wants it more?
Jill Mathews: Looks like both fighters are in the cage and ready to go. Due to time constraints, we will be skipping their intros tonight, and we'll be turning things over to Tom Davis for the introductions, Tom....
Tom Davis: The following contest is a Brass Knucks Division fight and will be a three round limit. If after three rounds we don't have a winner then we will go to the judges. Introducing first, with a BK record of 1-1, from Detroit, this is Ryan "The Ice Viper" Omega!!!!!!!!! And his opponent, with a BK record of 2-1 and coming from Provo, Utah; Frank "The Hammer" Jackson!!!!!!!
Jill Mathews: That was short and simple. You know, vince i've never really noticed this, but when these BK matches are booked so low on the show's card, there really isn't a lot of glamour to them. It's one of those get in, get out, get it on type of situations. Any new input or perspective on tonight's match?
Vince Walters: You know, it wouldn't surprise me if the two of them keep what's working for em as far as strategy. They're tied at one fight a piece so their respective styles seem to be working for them. Frank, being heavy with the kicks, and targeting the lower body, wants to set up the knock out to the head, while omega still wants to take this one to the ground. In all honesty, i still see Omega having a slight advantage here as he can hold his own on his feet, as well as on the ground. Hammer, on the other hand, is just that. He's gonna hammer the hell out of you with strikes. He's the type of fighter that's not going to try and waste time and energy on the ground. He'd rather get the combo in, set you up, and knock you out. Omega's a submissions kind of guy, and there's no fault in that, a lot of the wrestlers that come into the BK division have a decent arsenal of submission moves, however, Omega's a little bit more on par with the submissions then say, Gonsalves was. If he were to win tonight, and face specter for the belt, that would be an interesting match. Speaking of specter, we've yet to really see him demonstrate his submission moves too much, however, he's also managed to prove that he can go toe to toe if need be. It's nice when you've got a pair of diverse guys in the ring who don't mind keeping it vertical, or taking it to the ground. Tonight though, I think whoever controls the ring, controls the match. If hammer is able to keep omega standing up, and playing his game, then it's lights out for omega. The same thing goes with Omega too though. If he's able to take hammer to the ground, and lock something in? Hammer's gonna tap, and we can call it a night.
Jill Mathews: Couldn't agree more, which is why i think it's all gonna come down to defense in this one. Whoever does a better job at blocking and countering, they're gonna be the victors, your thoughts?
Vince Walters: Honestly, i think it's going to be about offense. While defense may play a key role in the first round, I think if they survive past that, they're both going to be going for the knock out or submission. I don't think either man has enough endurance to go the distance tonight, and all it's going to take is one false move causing an opening, and it's game over. Personally, i think this will play heavier into Frank's advantage.
Jill Mathews: Well, on paper, Frank's the man to beat. He's got the formal training which means he's got a little bit better of a grasp when it comes to pacing himself. However, he's also got that temper on him that if he let's go of his concentration, it could, and most likely will cost him. I think that Omega can get him to lose that concentration. You gotta think, vince, the mental role plays just as big a part as the physical role. It's all a matter of who has more discipline. But, enough of that, Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to Demented Greetings! This Match should be one for the books as so much is on the line. Let's kick it off with a bang while round one gets under way.
~RD 1~
As the first round gets under way, the two men meet each other in the middle of the ring, this time, they both touch gloves having earned the 'respect' of one another. However, the honeymoon's over, as Frank strikes first with a swift kick to the thigh of omega. Omega grimaces in pain as another kick is offered, and then a third. Omega hobbles back a bit, and Frank closes the gap between the two. Switching it up, Frank issues another kick to the opposite thigh of omega. Getting a bit cocky, he goes for it once more. Omega manages to catch the leg, and use frank's momentum to swing him around. Frank, on the other hand, as he's swiveling backwards, extends his fist and catches omega on the chin as he engages with a back fist. Omega is instantly cut open from a wound prior. Frank capitalizes one the injury and issues up a combo of a kick to the ribs, followed with a left jab and a right hook. However, Omega is able to sway out of the way of the punches, the kick landed cleanly on his ribs.
Vince Walters: Ryan's not looking too good right now. Looks like I was right when i said offense is going to win this match. He's already cut open and has only taken one strike to the face, and let's face it, it was an ugly spinning back fist. Something Frank pulled out of his ass due to desperation to keep Omega at bay.
Jill: Frank's really been a force with those kicks of his. While they may not be doing a lot in the form of outer damage, each one of those strikes is doing a hell of a number on Omega's thigh muscles. Eventually, they're just going to end up giving out. If he keeps workin the legs, i don't see this match going any further than mid second round.
Vince: Well, that's what happened last week, it only went a round and a half really. But you know, Omega got the win to tie it up. So, like we've been saying all night, it's anyone's fight.
Omega begins to mount some sort of offense as we pan back to the ring. He's got Jackson in a clinch and is giving him the knee strikes to the gut. Jackson clenches his jaw in pain with each strike. Trying desperately to get control once more. However, Omega has him firmly locked up. Omega begins to try and wrap his leg around Frank's to try and take him to the mat. Frank, on the other hand, is trying his damnedest to make sure he doesn't give up what little ground he still has. Maintaining his center, Frank rears his head back, and lunges forward and upward beneath omega's chin, causing omega to instantly let go. Omega staggers back. This one could be over. Frank quickly begins to bury his fists into the mid section of omega, working the ribs and setting up the combo. Just then, out of no where, Omega manages to evade the onslaught, and lunges a fist into the face of the Hammer. Down he goes. Hammer's just hit the mat. Omega attempts to make the move on him, but Hammer's quickly up to his feet once more. Having learned his lesson last week, Hammer is showing Omega that he doesn't want this match to go to the ground, at all.
Jill Mathews: As quickly as he went down to the mat, he's back up. Hammer is definitely showing omega that he's not going to give in. There's no way he's tapping out again. Jackson takes a few steps back, and allows for some of the time to run out of the clock.
Vince: Kind of a chicken shit move if you ask me. He got jolted, and now he's a little gun shy. I'll tell you one thing though, if he keeps that up, and this match ends up going to the end, those points are gonna cost him. Beretta wants them fighting at all times, and the judges know this as well.
Jill: Still, vince, you can't fault the guy. When's the last time you've done something like this? Like, never? Yeah, that's what i thought. If he's able to get away with burning some clock, good on him. He's just biding his time is all. However, it also gives omega a chance to catch a little bit of energy. So, just like always, for every action, there's a consequence.
Omega has a surge of energy as he taunts Frank with his hand, calling him out. Frank smashes a fist into his palm, and engages once more. Omega quickly tries to throw a hook, and misses as Frank ducks it. He then comes back up with a smooth uppercut getting all of Omega's face. Omega sprawls out to the ground, just as the bell rings.
Vince Walters: Wow, what a hell of an uppercut from Jackson. That's one way to solidify the round. Holy shit. Omega's still out on the mat. Oh, there we go, now he's getting up with a little help from the ref. He's not all there, folks. He's staggering his way over to his corner. Let's see how Frank's doing.
Jill: Well, looks like frank's refusing any sort of medical help as he's just standing there with his fist raised in the air, looking onto the now bewildered omega. I think in frank's mind, he's got this one won. But, remember what i was saying... you know about his ego and so on. If he's not careful, it's gonna get the best of him. We've seen it countless times in the wrestling ring, for sure.
Vince: Yeah, that's true. Looks like Omega's finally got a grasp on where he is and what he's supposed to be doing as he gets some words of advice from his promoter.
Jill: How many times have we seen these matches where someone gets saved by the bell? Too many to count huh? Well, here's another example, It was lights out for Omega, and all things considered, had there been more time in the round, Frank would have capitalized and this one would be in the books. Honestly, if I'm omega right now, im counting my lucky stars, and Frank ? Well, you know he's gotta be fuming right now. Although, i'll give it to him, he didn't dis obey the rules. He heard the bell and instantly backed off. I think that's where that mutual respect is starting to come into play, here.
~RD 2~
Once more the two men meet and touch gloves briefly. Frank, having a head full of confidence begins to dance around Omega, almost in a taunting manner. Throwing weak strikes at Omega and keeping him honest. Omega, however, is keeping a cool head and his attention focused on the incoming strikes thrown by Jackson. The two men trade a couple of jabs back and fourth still trying to regain what little energy they have. However, it's only going to last so long before Jackson once more offers up a sweeping leg strike to the calf of omega. The sound echos throughout the ring, as omega lifts his now tender leg for a moment. However, he still manages to keep his guard up, and his attention on frank instead of the pain. Frank tries to do it once more only to the opposite leg, and this time omega manages to evade the strike. Frank tries once more, only to the ribs of Omega this time and connects weakly. Omega is able to shrug off the strike, and leaves his guard up, awaiting the combo. Seeing this, frank pauses for a moment, and dances around omega once more trying to find a hole in his defense. Frank then offers up a spinning heel kick to the head of omega, only to have it grabbed mid air. Omega drives frank to the ground once more. Frank flails a bit, as omega tries to get position on him. Frank's legs seem to be fending him off pretty well for the most part, However, omega quickly drops down on Frank, and issues up a couple of strikes to the face of frank. Frank wildly tries to fend off the aggressive omega, and eventually, is able to grab one of the fists that was meant for his face. Frank quickly tries to maneuver to get some sort of lock in, but fails. Omega is able to release himself from Frank's grasp and offers up a couple of more strikes to the face, busting frank open something fierce.
Jill: Frank's cut open. He's cut badly. All it took was a solid punch to the brow, and look at him, he looks like he just took the beating of a life time. His eye's already beginning to swell shut. This could be it, folks.
Vince: It could be all over, but, wait! No, somehow Frank's managed to get back to his feet. He's got omega pushed off. Omega's gassed, as he's slow to his feet. Jesus jill, would you look at that blood just flowing from the brow of the hammer? That's gonna hurt him pretty badly when it comes down to it. I mean, his vision's pretty much restricted to one eye now, as that damn wound has pretty much swollen over the top of his eye, and it looks like his right eye in general is pretty much on the verge of being swollen shut as it is. I said it before, but shit, you can't expect to get hit without some sort of major damage when you've been fighting back to back to back weeks.
Omega now on the offense is the one dancing around Frank. Trying to keep to his blind side. For the most part it's paying off too, as omega offers up jab after jab. Each one landing solidly on the face of Frank. Frank lunges out of desperation to hit omega only to be caught off guard by a looping overhand hook! Frank's staggering back once more.
Vince: Wicked looping hook by Omega. That one's got frank dazed. I wouldn't be surprised to see Omega try and take this to the ground again. AND THERE HE GOES! Both men are DOWN! Omega once more landing an onslaught of punches to the right side of Frank's face. Hell, if he keeps this up, he's gonna need his retina reattached after this match. There's no way Frank knows where he is right now. Omega's taken it to the ground, and has yet to try and lock in a submission. It looks like he's going for the KO ladies and gentlemen. This one could be over.
Omega takes a couple more strikes at Hammer, and decides now is as good a time as any to lock it in. Omega puts Frank in an arm bar and begins to try and lock it in. Frank tries desperately to hang on, but at this rate, it's looking to be all over. 10 seconds left on the clock. Omega begins locking it in more tightly. Frank screams in pain. 5 seconds to go. Frank can feel the tension in his arm and is on the verge of tapping. He lifts his hand to begin tapping just as the bell rings to signify the end of the round, just as the bell dings. Frank's hand begins to tap violently on the mat.
Jill: Holy shit, he tapped. He tapped again. This one's over! Omega's got a shot at the BK title!
Vince: Hold on, it looks like the ref is waving it off, Jill, he's pointing to the clock. The bell had rang before Frank's hand hit the mat in submission. We're goin to round three baby! Yeah!
Jill: Oh, that's a bad call right there. Terrible call. A submission is a submission.
Vince: Well, if you wanna play that game, then omega should have been knocked out in the first round, but he was saved by the bell. This round seemed to go by pretty quickly. Both men put up a hell of a fight, but it looked like this one was dominated by omega. There were times when frank had a chance, but, he just didn't seal the deal. Im guessing he's been humbled this last round.
Jill: Humbled to say the least, the guy tapped the hell out. This match should be over!
Vince: Well, that's not the way the time keeper, ref, and judges see it. Sure, the long and short of it is, it may have been a questionable call, but if you look at the replay, you can clearly see that the correct call was made. Hell, look at frank right now as he walks back to his corner, he's nursing his arm something fierce. This could damage his striking game. I bet he's wishing that bell hadn't rung right now, so they could just be all said and done. But now, he's at a severe disadvantage. Im pretty sure he's blind out of his right eye by now, and well, his right arm is pretty much fucked. There's only one thing he can do now. Try and keep his distance with his legs. I'm sure Omega knows that as well, but at the same time, Omega also knows that if he can get frank to the ground again, there's a good chance that he can get him to tap within seconds if he locks in that armbar once more.
Jill: Well, let's not rule it all out just yet. All it will take from frank to keep in this are some well placed kicks, and him maintaining his distance. As long as he can keep vertical, there's a fighting chance left in him to win this one. However, if i were a gambling woman, i'd say that omega's got this one locked in. Even if it goes to the judges tonight. Hell, it would be a sweet sweet redemption for him, as the first match went to a split decision in favor of the Hammer.
Vince: Good point. Alright, let's get this third round underway, shall we?
Jill: Sounds good to me, Vince.
~RD 3~
The two men come out, this time not meeting in the center to touch up. There was no time to be wasted. There needed to be a knockout or submission. There's no way either fighter wants this match to go to the judges. It's been way to close up until now, and to be honest, it could go either way. Omega begins to circle Frank a little bit, once more working on that blind side of his. Omega offers up a strike to the right thigh of Frank, and connects.
Jill: Omega's really got it out for that right side of frank. When this match is over, the guy's gonna look like he had a stroke or something.
Vince: Aww, c'mon, that's even too low for me.
Jill: Just sayin. It's a solid strategy, for sure though. We know that frank can't see out of his right eye, so those strikes are coming out of no where. Sure, he can try and compensate with his left, but it probably won't do him much good. OH! OOOHHHHH! Shit! WOW! Frank's on the offensive out of no where! Look at the kicks he's serving up!
Frank begins wavering back and forth setting up what appears to be some sort of kick combo. A solid straight on kick to the gut sends omega into the cage. Followed with a kick to the thigh of omega, and just then!
Vince: OMEGA'S DOWN! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!
Jill: I have no idea. I do know that... wow. I... What's that called? Do you know vince?
Vince: I have no fuckin clue, but im just gonna call it a tornado kick. Omega's not moving. He's knocked the hell out! Holy shit! Don't call it a come back ladies and gentlemen, Frank Jackson has just earned himself a shot at the BK title! Wow! Let's see that again! Look at this. There's the combo, and wham! Out of nowhere, JILL! Half blind, and still enough composure to be able to land something like that cleanly! That's amazing!
Jill: I still think this was omega's match. There shouldn't have been a third round, Vince, you and I both know it.
Vince: Welp, you don't like it? Complain about it on the internet.
Jill: Well... Well shit... It's been a hell of a match, and if it's any indicator of what's to come, than we should have our selves one hell of a show. Congratulations to Frank Jackson, he is our first official contender for the BK title. The question is, when will he get his shot at the champ?
The fans cheer loudly as they watch the replay on the screen once more. Frank staggers to the middle of the ring, leans down, and tries to help omega up. Omega obliges to the help, and nods to jackson weakly.
Vince: Two warriors, three weeks, three matches, one final victor, and to the victor goes the spoils i suppose. Just when I thought that Jackson didn't really have much of a chance. I mean, let's sum it up. First fight? Split decision. Second Fight? Omega took it by submission. This fight? Omega almost had him again by submission, however, some how Frank was able to squeak out a win. If he does end up fighting specter for the title, it's gonna be one hell of a match, as Frank's gonna need to bring a lot more to the table than what he has over these past weeks.
Jill: Well, yeah, but first? First comes his recovery. He's earned himself a nice bed at the hospital after tonight.
Jill: I have no idea. I do know that... wow. I... What's that called? Do you know vince?
Vince: I have no fuckin clue, but im just gonna call it a tornado kick. Omega's not moving. He's knocked the hell out! Holy shit!
