I made it through the t-shirt signing but my patience was more than tested. Here I was, trying to enjoy my moment, a moment I had worked hard for. A moment that wasn't just about me, it was about New Edge and our fans and it was ruined by veteran wrestlers who were jealous of everything I've accomplished in my short time in New Edge.
Jesse poked his head into the room I had retreated to in an effort to calm down. He had a smile on his face but could tell instantly by looking at me that I wasn't in the mood.
Jesse Styles: "Hey, I know you're upset over the tweets from Val but, I have someone I want you to meet."
I looked down at my hands as they sat on my lap. I could almost see my reflection in my nail polish.
Sasha Foote: "I'm not in the mood, Jesse. I came here to be alone while I wait for the car."
Jesse Styles: "This is someone I think you should meet. Everything you're going through right now, she went through. Just give her a few minutes of your time, it'll be worth it. Cool?"
I looked up at Jesse, my boss, rolling my eyes.
Sasha Foote: "Fine, Jesse. A few minutes. When the car gets here, I'm out though. I think its best that I get back to my apartment before I run into Valora and rip her freakin head off."
Jesse Styles: "Wouldn't want that...okay I'm sending her in."
As Jesse stepped out of the doorway, I kept my eyes glued to it. Who the hell wanted to see me and why couldn't they make it during my shirt signing hours?
Then, I saw a tall woman with long, light-brown hair walk into the room. She had a smile plastered across her face. She was actually wearing my new t-shirt. Gotta admit, it was cool seeing my fans wear the shirt.
I stood up and shook her hand. Frustrated or not, I wasn't about to be rude to someone that clearly supports me and my career. She was pretty, but she looked older than me. Not by much, but she had to be in her early 30's.
We both took a seat on the leather sofa in the room, I retreated to one corner while the fan sat near the other.
Sasha Foote: "So, gotta admit I love that shirt." I uttered, breaking the ice. I still had no idea who this woman was or why Jesse said I HAD to meet her.
Sasha Foote: "My boss told me it was imperative that I spoke with you. Who are you?"
The woman flashed a smile and nodded her head.
Carli Kenner: "Well, my name is Carli Kenner. I actually waited last minute to come because I was hoping I could get a few minutes of conversation out of you."
Sasha Foote: "Um, why?"
So she purposely came late? I ran it through my mind over and over.
Carli Kenner: "Because we're more alike than you think. I'm 33 now, so around 10 years ago I was your age. I actually was a professional wrestler and I had the world in my hands. At least I thought I did."
I studies Carli's face. She had that smile as she spoke still, but her eyes told a different story.
Carli Kenner: "You know how right now, you feel like you're the future of New Edge?"
Sasha Foote: "I don't THINK I'm the future, I KNOW I am."
Carli Kenner: "I'm a big New Edge fan and trust me, I think you are too. You have it. The motivation, the passion, you're very pretty. You are the complete package, or you will be when you gain a little more experience."
Okay, she was rubbing me the wrong way already. I've heard this over and over again. I decided to interrupt her.
Sasha Foote: "Okay, no disrespect because you're a fan, but I've heard this gain more experience thing over and over again. I'm reminded every day that I have to compete in more matches, win some of them and learn to respect everyone in order to really be the future. Frankly, its bs. I survived a hall of famer in my first match. I'm on tshirts, posters, power rankings and the sky is truly the limit for me. I appreciate your input, but I'll be fine."
Carli Kenner: "I hope you will be."
Sasha Foote: "What is that supposed to mean?"
Carli glanced up at me, this time the smile off her face.
Carli Kenner: "Like I said, we're more alike than you think. I had the world in my hands and, I had a few matches under my belt. I was winning, I was making big money. Photoshoots, club appearances, I was living the life. But I had a mouth on me. Just like you, I talked a lot. I rubbed a few people the wrong way, but I didn't care. Why should I? That's what I thought. I was winning, I was younger than them, I was the future.
And then, after one show in Minnesota, I was walking to my car. It was dark out, and it was really cold in the parking garage. I unlocked my car and before I could even get in it, I felt a pain in the back of my leg. I went down and looked up and it was someone that I had a run-in with earlier backstage at the show."
I could see tears well up in Carli's eyes and I felt for her. I kept my eyes trained on her, listening intently.
Carli Kenner: "I had been going back and forth with this woman for weeks and I guess she got tired of it and on that one night, I lost my career. My leg was torn apart by the baseball bat she attacked me with. I had surgery and I probably could have come back later on, but mentally I was never the same.
So I lost my career because I didn't know when to keep quiet. I know it doesn't seem possible that it will happen to you, but Sasha, I felt the same way."
Sasha Foote: "I'm NOT you. Its that simple."
I stood up and began pacing around the room. I could feel my face burning in anger. I was looking at the ground while pacing.
Sasha Foote: "I don't talk just to talk. But I'm not going to allow people to try and intimidate me, or to push me around. Or to say I haven't earned anything. I've worked my butt off since I stepped foot in the door here. Whether it's been in the ring against Al, at promotional events, photoshoots, promoting on twitter. I've been visible. I've been doing my best to help New Edge grow. If Val or Inkt or anyone else calls me out, I'll fire back at them."
Carli Kenner: "I admire your courage Sasha I really do, but my advice is...pick your battles. You have a match coming up with a legend, Johnny Bonecrusher. Instead of focusing on him, you've been getting into it with Blair Buchanan, Valora, the guy from WWA, Al Envy off and on. You're doing too much and it might not hurt you now, but eventually that lack of focus is going to be your downfall."
The more I thought about it, maybe she's right. She seems genuine, like she actually cares. She's been down the path I'm on.
I nod my head slowly, biting my lip before I said something I'd regret. I swallowed my thoughts and extended my hand. I felt Carli grip it, smiling.
Carli Kenner: "Keep that fire, that spunk you have, just channel your energy and focus onto one opponent at a time and avoid letting everyone else get into your head. You're new, regardless if you want to hear it or not and they're going to test you. What you need to do is focus on Johnny because girl, you have all the tools. If you put everything into that match, you'll pick up your first New Edge win at Demented. I believe that with all of my heart."
Sasha Foote: "Maybe you're right. I'll take your advice, only because I don't want to end up like you."
That might have been cold-hearted, but I have no filter. I walked towards the door and glared back at the woman who had just offered me advice. She was staring at me intensely, like my words were daggered into her chest. I waved at her playfully and exited the room, ready to get back to my apartment and relax for the night.

Sasha Foote stands, staring at the camera intensely for a closeup. Her facial piercing shining brightly against the lighting.
The talked about newcomer is dressed in her new purple and white wrestling gear with black wrestling boots.
"When this match was originally made, it was discussed as boxer/kickboxer vs pro wrestler. Myself being the boxer, The Johnny being the wrestler. Since that time, a lot has happened. I've had my first professional wrestling match, Johnny signed a full time contract and we even met up at Ignite. I don't think I need to remind Johnny what happened at Ignite between us, I'm sure he still feels it.
A lot has changed since that night though, hasn't it Johnny? I failed to pick up a win but I won the respect of the fans. You failed to get off the floor from my kick until they scraped you off it after the show, but more importantly...I've made a transformation. I'm no longer the boxer I was, I'm officially a wrestler.
Now before you get your XXL underwear in a bunch, calm down, wipe the sweat off your forehead and listen. I know I haven't been around long enough for your liking, and I'm sure you feel the same way a lot of the other veterans feel about me. But the reality is, I had a wrestling match, and with all of the training I've been putting in on top of it, I can confidently call myself a wrestler.
Call me arrogant, call me spoiled, call me whatever you want, at Demented, they'll announce me as a Winner.
How does it feel Johnny? If you look at the predictions from the rest of the New Edge roster, a roster that largely looks down on me for numerous reasons, every single person picked me to win this match. Our peers, WRESTLERS, they picked the one match rookie over the 16 year veteran. How does it make you feel?"
Sasha smirks arrogantly at the camera. The fans may like her, but she still knows how to push the buttons of her opponents.
"Not only do our peers think I can beat you, but its obvious that the higher ups have more faith in me than you. Lets talk about your favorite topic, shall we, the draft. The draft in which Kronin drafted me number 3 overall for Lights Out. 3rd overall, again let that sink in. Where were you drafted? 14th."
Sasha let out a soft giggle.
"Its pretty sad that someone with hundreds of matches under their belt gets drafted over 10 picks after a rookie with one match to her credit. But don't feel so bad Johnny, I'm not your average rookie. I'm Sasha Foote. I'm the future of New Edge and after a trade on the night of the draft, I'm the soon to be face of Ignite. Which makes things really interesting
Now that we're no longer on the same show, this is the one chance we have to step in the ring against each other. This is an opportunity I won't let slip through my fingers because regardless of the jokes, you ARE a legend in professional wrestling, and as we've both said I NEED this win.
I took Al Envy to his limit but in the end, I lost. I refuse to take another legend to his limit, only to come up with another loss to my name.
Not only am I representing myself and the future of my own career, but I'm representing Ignite. This is Ignite vs Lights Out and I'm ready to show Kronin why he made the biggest mistake he could make when he traded me away from Lights Out.
I'm younger, faster, hungrier and more prepared than you will be Johnny. You've been out of the ring for nearly a year, I'm coming off one of the most intense matches of 2015 already. Ignite is the top show in New Edge, I'm the top rookie, and at Demented you're going down Johnny.
Don't take it too hard though because when this match is over, you get to start fresh on Lights Out and you never have to worry about going up against me again. At least not unless something crazy comes up.
Lost.
Defeated.
Pinned.
I was trying to come up with 14 ways of saying you're a loser at Demented, but I think the 3 I mentioned will do.
If you don't respect me as a wrestler yet, and still have the nerve to call me a kickboxer, you WILL respect me in less than a week after our match in Arizona. See you at Demented Uncle Johnny."
