Double checking information about a match could be the difference between a slight pain and being stuck in a bed for a week. Well, Kody learned this fact the hard way in the War Games match. The wrestlers his group was facing were literally giants and weighed a ton. Only offence he could muster was jumping off the top ropes to get those giants down. He was a flying squirrel early in the match, jumping off one giant onto the other. Than the big guys got their hands on him and ended his nightly painfully.
For the last week, Kodiak has been stuck in a bed with his whole body in bandages. He won’t admit it publicly but, going into that big of a match. He wasn’t fully ready to go to war against the top tier wrestlers. Only reason why he didn’t get eliminated earlier in the match was the fact he had Patrick there keeping him in the match. When Gordert finally came around couple days later, reality slapped him in the face with some cold, hard truths about World War X.
He lost his Young Blood Championship to Dixie and his team lost the War Games match. Kody is back at square one and needs to rebuild himself back up from the ashes after he crashed back down to earth. First step in his recovery: defeating Whitaker and Tao at Ignite 148.
“Alright Kody,” Miss Kayln says as she takes off the final piece of bandage off his body “About you not attempt to kill yourself this week against Whitaker and Tao? When your Cousins dumped your lifeless body on my metal table, I thought they should have sent you to a morgue and not to me. What the hell did you try to wrestle at World War X, freaking brick walls?”
Kodiak slowly opens and closes both of his fists, “Brick walls would have been nicer to me, Miss Kayln. They wouldn’t have made me get up even thou I was spent. Who actually hit me and did lethal damage to me was Father Nathan’s Left Hand of God. I’ve never felt such pain in my chest and then I was out.”
“I watched World War X and you did good job keeping up with the bigger guys in the ring. The only problem you had during the match was when they got their hands on you.” Miss Kayln says as she scoots her stool across the room. She picks up a white toothpaste bottle off the counter as she continued. “You know Kody. I have something that can heal those nasty scars on your forearms. Well heal isn’t the right word for it. It will be more lighten it up so, it wouldn’t be so easily visible.”
Kody slides off the metal table, “No thank you, Miss Kayln. Some scars needs to be visible to remind you of the actions that lead you to your current situation.” Kody gingerly puts on his grey and blue winter jacket on. “These scars remind me that she will never be coming back and I have to live with this burden knowing that I’m the last of my blood line. I left her alone because I thought she could defend herself. I was wrong, I was so wrong to believe that nobody would have ill will to my birth family.”
Miss Kayln says as Kody slowly walks toward the door, “You have to talk about what happen that night! If you don’t, it will eat you alive.”
Kody says softly before exiting the clinic, “One day I will but, not today. Thank you for all you have done for me all these years.”
Couple days later…..
Kody softly slams his head on the edge of a small metal table, “There is nothing to do here in Ohio! I thought Michigan was a boring place on this planet. Cincinnati makes the whole state of Michigan look like Disney World!”
Brit slowly drinks from a steaming tea cup before saying, “Well, what do you expect? This state isn’t known for many tourist spots and isn’t known for the scenery. Either you’re a real good actor or you weren’t that injured last week. I think more of your pride was hurt than anything else.”
Kody sits his chin on edge of the table, “If I sleep for extend period of time without interruptions than I usually heal up quicker because if I’m not moving than I can’t do anything to hurt myself further. Newton's first law, an object that is at rest will stay at rest unless an external force acts upon it.” He smiles big as he continued, “See I was paying attention at school.”
Brit smirks, “Let me guess, you guys found that out after watching a big boob woman bounce up and down?”
Kody’s face turns bright red as he leans back into his chair, “Don’t mock my learning styles, lady.”
Brit sips from her tea cup, “So, for the next show you’re facing two fairly new superstars who really haven’t proven themselves here in NEW lately. You’re facing a pretty boy and some sort of monk. Whitaker is someone that problem needs rehab for his partying ways. I also think there were reports of him leaving with a woman but, mostly a man out of a nightclub couple nights ago. Not a lot people are talking about what happen next but, I’m guessing his night didn’t end as well as he hoped for.”
Kody stares at Brit blinking repeatedly trying to process the information that she just told him about Whitaker. He finally says, “I’m going bury that information under shit that I do not want any more detail is needed. Anyways, I learned that Whitaker isn’t anyone I should take lightly at least not in NEW. He was a former Young Blood Champion like me but, he is also former Television and Tag Team Champion here in NEW also.
I could actually learn thing or two from this man, Brit. He may have some questionable taste in music and company at night. But, you cannot deny that he has ability to overclock his ability to beat someone who is better than him on paper. Minus the whole Jersey shore outlook on life, he has talent and I can’t knock on him too much. This other guy I’m facing this week, well I think has smoked little too much to think he some sort of monk of whatever.”
“The other guy you’re facing is called Ishida and I almost fall out of my chair when I saw how tall he was.” Brit says chuckling into her hand. “This poor kid is only five foot one inches tall! I can’t believe there is actually someone in this company that is shorter than you!”
“That would make him a legal midget and could be someone’s new foot rest.” Kodiak says trying to air measure next to him how tall Ishida is. Kody shrugs as he continues, “I heard that he was exile from his cult, I mean Monastery after he ate too many noodles one night. Those twisted fuckers told him as they boot him out, they will only accept him back when he becomes the World Heavyweight Champion here in NEW. This means he won’t be allowed back in his Monastery in years. Poor kid, he is going be an old man before he sees his friends again.”
Brit says busting out in laughing, “I also hear rumors about him not knowing his left from his right. I also heard that if begin to cluck like a chicken he begin to scratch the ground like a real chicken!”
Kody sighs, “This is why you don’t put up faggot ass rumors and not even ouch of your true story. People will not take you serious in this business and you will never get home back to your wacky kin. If you want my respect do it this week, Ishida. I want to respect the Taoist Monk that you’re trying to become. If you come up with some weak sauce, than I guess you know what that would mean.”
The waiter says as he sits down a hot bowl of noodles in front of Kody, “You’re noodles are up.”
Kodiak smirks, “No noodles for you, shorty.”
Brit says with a serious tone, “Kody, when you were laying there in that bed for the first couple days. You were mumbling about stuff. I couldn’t understand majority of it but, you did mention couple names that I didn’t know. Their names were Tel and Victor or something like that. Do those names mean something to you?”
Kody stops chewing the noodles and looks at Brit for a moment before slurping the noodles up. Kody says with worry, “They didn’t give me my medicine the first couple days?” Brit slowly shook her head as Kody continues, “This could be bad, Brit. Really bad for me because if I didn’t take the medicine until after I fallen asleep that would mean-”
“What would that mean?” Brit says with a tilt of her head
Kody smiles with a big dorky grin, “Never mind, I’m still breathing which is a good thing.”
Kody begins to stuff the rest of noodles in his mouth quickly as he thought to himself, “Why can’t I remember my trip to there? Have I taken the drug long enough so I could go couple days without taking it? No, it can’t be that because I must have been placed in the lake. That can only explain why I quickly healed. I scared why I can’t remember this trip. I’m truly scared of what happen there.”
Brit had to pin Kody’s arm to the table to stop him from stuffing anymore noodles into his mouth. She asks again, “What’s going on with you today? You seemed to be little off tilter today. Is it because it’s the first time eating solid foods for the first time in week?”
“Yes, yes, it is!” Kody proclaims like Brit found the meaning of life. “Reason why I’m not acting normal is because I’m not thinking normally due to the fact that I’m starving!”
Brit stares flatly at her boyfriend.
Kody chuckles nervously and he slowly eats the reminding of his noodles. He says with confidence, “Cincinnati does have something going for it. They do make some damn good noodles. I may say this city has best noodles in all of Ohio.”
