As dusk falls outside the bedroom window of Justice Cross we can see her sitting on the bed. Looking around the bedroom she shares with her husband Anthony “Enforcer” Cross, an aura of focused determination permeates the air. The room is adorned with decorations that reflect her larger-than-life personality and passion for her craft. The walls proudly display a collection of accolades and championship belts, serving as tangible reminders of her triumphs inside the squared circle. In a corner sits a well-worn wrestling gear, carefully organized and ready for action. Nestled on top of a wooden dresser are photographs capturing memorable moments from past matches, each image exuding energy and raw emotion. An imposing bookshelf towers along one wall, showcasing an extensive library encompassing wrestling history, biographies of legendary wrestlers, and instructional manuals to refine techniques. She has her phone in her hand hearing it ring as she is Face Timing someone. When the person comes on to the screen we can hear an older man’s voice.
Man: Hey sweetheart.
Justice: Hey dad.
Man: How are you?
Justice: I’m doing great. Still suspended but great.
Man: How are my grandkids?
Justice: They're busy with school. Isabella still lives in the condo down the beach from my house. And Ian just went to bed for school in the morning.
Man: Yeah? Is Ian adjusting to being in Santa Monica ok?
Justice: Yeah. He really is. I thought it would take him some time but he’s really liking it out here.
Man: It’s very different from Manhattan.
Justice: It’s definitely not a penthouse that’s for sure.
Man: No, but you’ll make this house a home just like you did there.
Justice: I had it redecorated.
Man: Sounds like something you would do. Out with the old and in with the new.
Justice: Dad!
Man: Well isn’t that what people do when they buy a house? They redecorate it to their liking?
Justice: I guess. I just really spruced the place up a bit is all.
Man: What is it you’re not telling me?
Justice: Is it that obvious?
Man: You don’t call me this late usually.
Justice: Well, I just wanted to tell you that I’m coming home.
Man: Did that husband of yours upset you? I may be old but I can still get in a ring and kick his ass.
Justice: What? No. Pop listen, it’s got nothing to do with Anthony. You need to stop with the whole he isn’t good enough for me to deal with. Anyways, I am coming home in a few weeks because I signed a contract for NEW.
Man: You what?
Justice: Signed a contract for NEW.
Man: You mean that place owned by Jesse Styles?
Justice: Yeah.
Man: They just had their first show. It was a great show.
Justice: Yeah well unfortunately my flight was a bit delayed and by the time I got to the arena I had to go right to his office to sign my contract. I wasn’t able to be on the show because of that.
Man: You missed a show?
Justice: Well yeah dad but it’s not like I meant to. My flight was delayed a bit.
Man: Oh. Well are you going to be on the next Ignite?
Justice: Yeah. I’ll be facing some person named Rylee Ruin.
Man: Ok, what do you know about her?
Justice: Well her name is really Ryleigh.
Man: What else?
Justice: I’m going to be mentoring her niece Ailyn. She is eighteen years old and she fangirls over me. She has a lot to learn and I think that being a veteran in this business I can help her with the things that I know.
Man: Are you sure this is something you should do?
Justice: It’s a part of my healing process. I don't have to do this for her, but I want to. I want her to know how hard things will be for her. I don’t want her to fall into the trap pop.
Man: Well just make sure you steer her the right way.
Justice: I will.
Man: If I’m thinking right, isn’t Rylee a former champion?
Justice: Yeah. She is a three time former champion. But that is nothing compared to being a former television champion, former women’s champion numerous places, former tag team champion in two places, former world champion, and the former Glory champion.
Man: That’s a very lustrous career Justice.
Justice: Yeah, but none of that matters because it isn’t NEW. I have learned to look forward to the future pop. And my future right now seems to be in NEW. But hey listen, Ian just walked in so I have to go. I’ll see you in a week.
Man: Alright. I’ll see you soon Justice. Your mom and I love you.
Justice: Um yeah, I um, I love you too. Bye pop.
Justice ended the call with her father, the glow of the screen casting a soft light on her face. As she placed the phone on the bedside table, Ian, her son, approached, a concerned expression on his face.
Ian: I heard you talking on the phone to someone. Everything okay, Mom?
Justice smiled reassuringly, patting the spot next to her on the bed. Ian sat down, and Justice took a deep breath before sharing the news.
Justice: I just spoke to Grandpa. I let him know that I've signed with NEW.
Ian's eyes widened in surprise.
Ian: NEW? That's huge news!
Justice: Yeah, and I'm scheduled for the next Ignite, facing Rylee Ruin.
Ian: Rylee Ruin? She's no pushover. Are you sure about this?
Justice nodded, her determination shining through.
Justice: I'm not just doing it for me, Ian. I've agreed to mentor Rylee's niece, Ailyn. She's young, passionate, and looks up to me. I want to guide her through this crazy world of professional wrestling.
Ian grinned, proud of his mom's decision.
Ian: That's incredible, Mom. You've always had a way of inspiring and helping others. I'm sure Ailyn will benefit greatly from your guidance.
Justice: I hope so. It's a part of my healing process, Ian. I want to use my experience to help the next generation avoid the pitfalls I faced.
Ian wrapped his arm around Justice, offering his support.
Ian: You're amazing, Mom. NEW is lucky to have you.
Justice leaned in and hugged Ian, gratitude and love evident in her eyes.
Justice: And I'm lucky to have you by my side, always supporting me.
As she gave him a quick hug and told him to go back to bed, the room seemed to fill with a sense of unity and purpose. Justice Cross, with a renewed spirit, looked forward to her future in NEW, ready to face the challenges ahead and make a positive impact on the wrestling world. The journey continued, and Justice was determined to leave an indelible mark on the legacy of NEW, with her son Ian cheering her on every step of the way.
