This isn't about championships to me. This isn't even about costing me a match - for it falls on me. I could make the statement that I was screwed. That Andrew Garrison cost me the match and saved both Meg and Nocturnal from having to face reality, but that would be deflecting. That would be lying to myself. With all the time I have been in this sport, I should have expected that something like this was a real possibility of playing out. I should have known Garrison would have wanted more after the rumble.
And now, he moves a step closer to obtaining that which he seeks.
The question that awaits him now though is - does he truly want this? Does he truly understand what it means to be in my line of sight? Because it's one thing to cry out for attention. To try and poke the bear and another to know what to do when the bear bites back and gives you what it is that you have been seeking. It's the very essence of the statement be careful what you wish for. A statement that if you are to be able to claim what it is that you desire, you wouls be best served to heed. Otherwise, I cannot guarantee what shall become when you are swept into the riptide, Andrew. I cannot promise that you will be able to cling onto the hope and belief you have when it comes time to pay the piper. When it comes time to face the bear face to face in the middle of the ring, with no means of escape.
Luckily for you, that time isn't coming just yet. You have time to plan. To try and conjure up a means of escaping the maze that has been set forth for you. To try and find it inside of you to step onto the field of war and prove that you had more than just an egotistical reason for stepping up to the plate. For coming for the one man who has no qualms with ensuring that once the smoke clears and the bell tolls, that you are left as no more than a mere husk.
That is exactly what will be happening.

Having made the decision to journey to Memphis earlier than I usually would for an event, I have been able to decompress and remind myself of what truly is most important. Of where my focus needs to be, me so than simply winning. For the message. The calling has remained the same ever since I decided to make my way back to the NEW - it is simply about making sure the chips fall into the right places at the right time.
Presently, they have been on all fronts. That is what I am more worried about, at least when it comes to the in ring component of things. Outside of the ring, business rolls on and Adams Enterprises remains as strong as it has been. Our Christmas and New Year's charity drives were as successful as ever, earning over 2.75 million for education and medicial purposes in Australia alone. Worldwide, the figure is closer to 7 million. Our most successful year yet in that regard. Yet inside of the ring, some people will say 2023 was one of, if not my worst year. A year where I was barely seen, and simply appeared to tread water when I was.
Yet what they don't understand is that it was all by design. All so that people wouldn't suspect a single thing when the clock strikes and it all falls into place.
"It is not about the battle, but about the war."
I state this quote, leaning back against a steel chair within an otherwise abandoned room. The light is dim, yet enough to make out that this is inside of some sort of unit in Memphis. The sort of unit I have been known to stay in while traveling for wrestling.
"That is what they refuse to understand. It was never about the X-Kore championship. It was never about needing to win gold - I care not for glory. I care not for needing some sort of false crown, for what I shall hold will resonate more than any championship could wish."
"It wasn't even about Garrison and his belief that he can be the one to take me down. To step up and show himself to be more than a mere puzzle piece. To try and quell the storm before it has a chance to truly take form."
A small smile appears across my face.
"He is nothing more than a speck of dirt in the great passage of time. A fly, buzzing around in the hopes that it will be squashed, only to find itself completely unprepared for the time the squashing is to occur. He knows it too --- that is why he is begging for me to be the one to carry the act out. Why he feels the need to be like a child crying for the attention of their parents. Attempting to get them to focus on him for the first time in their lives."
"Guess what?"
I lean forward, my eyes narrowing.
"You have that attention now, Andrew. Be forewarned though, it isn't gonna be the attention you desire though. It isn't gonna be the party you were hoping for. Instead, think of it as being like the nine circles of hell. Right now, you are merely on the edge of the first one --- but sooner rather than later, there will be no choice but for you to venture forward into each circle. Wandering aimlessly as you attempt to comprehend what awaits you with each circle, yet consistently find yourself unable to. Instead being met with a wall of flames rising as smoke encapsulates your body."
"See, Andrew - the moment you step into the circle, you will be left with no choice but to confront them. To look inside yourself as the flames dance and sizzle around you, questioning whether or not this is what you truly wished for. What you truly desired the moment you locked onto me as your target."
I lean back, flames beginning to dance within my irises.
"The moment you thought that coming for me was the route you should take. This is the bed you have made for yourself --- and when the time comes for you to step into the final circle, you will see that you must now reap what you have sown."
I chuckle.
"For your sake, I hope you are ready for what awaits you."

Don't worry, when it plays out - I promise it will not hurt. I promise you will be able to gracefully rest within your shell. It is the least that you deserve. Nor should you worry about your X-Kore title shot against Meg. It is not the first circle of what awaits you.
I have no intention of ruining your fun.
Instead, I have my own frontier to cross. A man who I have not confronted before, but appears to believe that he can play mind games. That he can get inside of my head and hope to see tangible success. That being Josh Cole.
I don't know if you thought it would be okay not to do research on me, or if you believe that taking an psychological approach us truly going to pay dividends for you, but playing a mind game or attempting to engage in a battle of wits is only gonna end up with you being severely outclassed abd outmatched. Both inside and outside of the ring.
I live in the realm of psychology. Watching my opponents squirm as they realize that they are picking themselves apart piece by piece even more than I am, whilst losing grip of everything they thought they had held. Falling further and further into the mire each and every step of the way. For that is the outcome that awaits you, should you walk into the ring without understanding your enemy. In this case, that is me.
Conversely, I know exactly what makes you tick, Josh. I can sense it in your words. Your actions inside of the ring. You want to be great. You want to be seen as this clinicly ruthless and sadistic being, without understanding what it takes to be there. What it entails to actually be it, rather than playing pretend. That is why you have allowed yourself to believe you are the one dictating the terms. Holding the cards within this battle.
You're not.
At Ignite, that is what you will come to understand.

Sitting in front of a square table within the kitchen area of the same unit, I stare forward.
"Josh, you can claim that you want this. That you are built for what is to come but the truth is - you aren't"
I stare forward, making sure the focus is on my eyes.
"I can feel it. I can sense it with every action you take. You're afraid. Scared of what you must confront every time you open your eyes. Every time you must see the true Josh."
"That is why you try to hide. That is why you attempt to convince yourself that you can step into that ring and stand toe to toe with me. Why you believe that this is just your next bridge back to Omar."
I shake my head.
"Sadly, it isn't. This is where your road ends and the descent into your mire truly begins. This is where you are exposed as simply being the next piece of the puzzle. The next stanza of the Temple's desire."
I shoot my famed half-smirk.
"The next to fall at my hands."
I then return to a stouc expression.
"This was over before it even begun, yet you haven't been able to hear the chimes. Come ignite, they shall ring loud and clear. And it'll be then that you fall into place."
I whisper.
"See you there."
END.
And now, he moves a step closer to obtaining that which he seeks.
