Ocean brushes some dust off a small glass container that is sitting on top of a small square wooden table with a small rag. Inside of the glass container is a small glass dagger. The dagger is the perfect size to be quickly pulled from inside of one’s sleeve. The glass dagger has ancient markings carved into the blade just like Ocean’s sword. Ocean says as he leans onto a concrete pillar directly in front of the glass dagger, “I hope we never have the need to use this weapon. This stupid thing nearly destroyed The Family and all our friends.” Orlando continues as he rubs the inner corners of his eyes with his left hand. “I hope she doesn’t get free from her cage or she will hunt us down one by one.”
Ocean slowly walks past different covered objects to a switch on the wall. He says as he hits the switch causing the lights to go out in the room, “I rather not have to dance to that song again.”
Cincinnati, Ohio
“Newfoundland, we are you taking me?” Ocean grumbles as his former student drags him down the sidewalk. “I told you, I’m not in the mood to celebrate my victory over Reya last week. I still have to face another person sometime in the near future to have my chance in The Terror Dome Match. I’m facing probable the hardest working superstars in the business. To deal with Omega, I need to be in the gym not out dancing with girls at some club.”
Newfoundland says with his native Russian accent, “You’re not dancing with girls, Sir. You’re going to see someone that personally asks to see you the next time you’re in Cincinnati. You haven’t seen her in years and-“
Ocean rips his arm out from KJ’s grip and says with a snarl, “Newfoundland, listen to yourself! Nobody would want to see me from my past without a reason. I rather not be dragged into a situation that I have no control in. So, I will not be seeing her tonight or ever. She probable has some old feud with me or at least she believes that was me. Hold on, did she ask for Ocean or Shredder?”
Newfoundland grumbles under his breath, “Shredder”
Ocean nearly chokes KJ with his hands but, stops inches from his throat. Orlando snarls, “So, you thought I could do my best Shredder act for this lady? If you didn’t notice, I’m not twisted like him. I actually have emotion that I have no control over. He knows death and that’s why he doesn’t care what happens to people he meets. Shredder has friends in the shadows that don’t care about Orlando Ocean. If I happen to meet one of this friends, I will suffer because I’m not who they were expecting.”
KJ slowly points to a large building behind him. On the front of the building just above the door there is a giant sign that reads ‘R & R Recovery’. “We’re here” KJ quickly says as he spins around and opening the door to R&R Recovery. “I’m going in and I’m going to talk to her. You’re a free to go back to your hotel room to do some scouting about Omega. Since meeting an old friend isn’t high on your list to be done.”
Newfoundland disappears into the building leaving Ocean alone on the street. Ocean stands there for few moments before grumbling, “I hope she doesn’t expect me to do something illegal.”
He enters the R & R Recovery building and quickly catches up with Newfoundland in the small hallway that leads to a single room. Newfoundland opens the door that swings into a large room. He says as Ocean walks into the room first, “Ocean, I’m sorry about doing this to you at this time. I had a debt that needed to be paid and the only way I could get this debt called off is by bringing you here.”
Ocean says without looking behind him, “Newfoundland, I expected better from you. You and I will have little chat after I get out of this.”
The door slams shut behind Ocean and locks. Ocean doesn’t know what is the worst feeling falling for this trap or his former student selling him out. A slender woman dressed in a form fitting red dress walks into the moonlight that’s pouring into the room from a large window. “Well, isn’t it Mr. Shredder himself. You do look nice without the ugly mask of yours. It’s truly a shame that you haven’t gotten ahold of me throughout the years.” The woman says as she sways with grace toward Ocean. “Don’t worry about Newfoundland, Mr. Shredder. He owed me big for a little job that I did for him years ago. He told me that you didn’t want to see me ever again. That’s a shame because we’re almost related through marriage. I thought you were a family man?”
Ocean couldn’t prevent himself from snarling with his teeth showing when this woman step into the moonlight. This woman has caused trouble for his family since she first laid her eyes onto the brothers. Mostly on Ocean’s brother, Creeker. She manipulated both of them causing friction between them. She nearly caused Creeker to lose his sanity after she abandoned him at the altar on their wedding day. Ocean reaches for The Requite on his side but, the sword was gone. He says to himself as he softly taps his side for The Requite, “She never gave it back to me after she did that job for me. Great, I’m here with a wicked creature with no weapon.”
The woman says ten feet in front of Ocean, “Are you missing something or is it bad habit reaching for something that you have no right to anymore?” Ocean stares blankly at her as she continued. “Do you expect me not keep track on you? You made a lot noise last 9 years in the shadow community but, the last year or so. You became very quiet like something happen to causing you to fall off the radar. Some of my colleagues begin to wonder if you died or something.”
“You evil witch, you had some gall to show your face in front of me even after what you have done to my brother.” Ocean says as the woman slowly moves some strains of her dark brown hair out of her eyes and laughs softly. “You may have put up this false front for Creeker to fall in a love with but, I could see your true sight. You’re hideous and broken like everyone on this forsaken planet! I know this isn’t a social call, witch. What do you want?”
“Why do you call me, witch?” The woman says with flick of her wrist. “Why don’t you use my name like any civil person? Anyways, the reason why I summon you here to this place that I’m renting for tonight for this special event.”
Ocean cuts her off, “You’re not a god damn Queen. You don’t summon me, witch. I was tricked into this meeting and unless you have someone important me for me, if not.” Ocean spins around to face the door. “I will be leaving.”
Ocean slowly spins back around to face the woman as she says with her right pointer finger up doing a circle motion, “You do not interrupt me when I’m talking to you. That’s really rude of you, Mr. Shredder. It’s like your parents didn’t teach you manners or something.”
Slowly the window behind the woman begins to frost over as Ocean speaks through clinch teeth with his eyes on the ground, “You have no right to make the comment you evil bitch! You want me to use your real name? Fine! Renae, you have the floor as of right now. Speak your god damn part!”
“I’m here to warn you about two things since you turned a blind eye to what is happening around you.” Renae says as she places her right hand on her left arm. “First thing first, Omega isn’t someone who you think he is. You honestly believe hard work will get you anywhere anymore? That answer you’re looking for is no.”
Ocean slowly raises his head up to Renae, “You telling me, Omega made a deal with a demon?”
“That is what is being said around the shadow community. Nobody can find the true details but, they believe he gave someone up to get his ability become a World Champion.” Renae says
“Do you ever think he may have accepted something?” Ocean asks as the window behind Renae slowly thaws out. “Rayne and Omega are expecting another baby soon. Do you think he made promise to allow a demon to be reborn into this world? If so, then we may have situation on our hands.”
Renae continues, “But, I cannot tell you if that is true or not. I don’t want you go on killing baby spree like Nocturnal would have. All I’m asking is for you to keep an eye on those two because things may become fishy soon.”
“Do you have anything more about Omega, Renae?” Ocean asks shoving his hands into his jeans pockets. “Any more information will be great since I’m stuck here and not doing any personal resourcing on him.”
Renae smiles slightly, “Going against Omega try to get him frustrated and attempt to get into his head. Once he gets frustrated about you actions, he will begin to do mistakes and that’s how you can defeat him in this match.”
“So, attack his ego than?” Ocean says as Renae nods. “What is the second thing you wanted to warn me before you disappear back into the shadow community? By any chance do you know the winning lottery numbers for the next week drawing?”
Renae slowly shook her head, “No Mr. Shredder, I don’t know any number about the lottery. I’m wanted to warn you about someone coming to NEW that you know real well.”
“Like who”
Renae points to the door behind Ocean as it slowly open up. He quickly spins around to face the door, “Fuck no”
Alexis stood there with a smile and drops her bag on the ground next to her. Ocean slowly backs up into the room, “You couldn’t have warned me earlier?”
No answer
Ocean grumbles as Lexis charges forward with a fist pulled back for a punch, “Just like old times….”
