CHAPTER 22: EVERYONE GETS A TROPHY!
Opening the book, the young man turned to chapter 22 and read on, the ultimate plan of Colt’s was about to come full circle and he couldn’t wait to read it. Some may not have known the genius of what Colt had done at the time, but there was no doubt in the young man’s mind that when Colt finished the plan, the world would see the truth.
You know what’s wrong with society? Everyone thinks they are entitled to something, and everyone thinks that a trophy makes them great. For people like Valora, the NEW World Title is a vindication of their deeds, even if that vindication is a shitty trophy that anyone in the world could have. Look I’m not saying that anyone can be NEW Champion, at least not yet. That’s to come later.
But right now we are talking about Valora, about her desire to tell the world how great she is, and do that by winning the NEW World Title. Unfortunately for her, there is no NEW World Title anymore. But even I know you can’t simply remove a trophy like that and expect people to accept your change. People want to see that trophy, that shiny piece of shit that the so called champion brings down to the ring before a match, that he or she holds up over their head, and for those people there was a plan in place.
Two days before Ignite one hundred and what the fuck ever it was, and I like many of the wrestlers was in Cincinnati, of course I arrived the day after the Ignite that Valora sucker punched me and was saved by Jesse Styles. People will no doubt wonder why I destroyed the NEW Title, hell Jesse will probably ask that very question himself. Well he has no place to look other than at himself, and his desire to fill his ring with substandard talent like Valora and Alexander Koresh. Unfortunately he won’t let me do to Valora what I did to Alexander. Even though he knows a world without her would be a better place.
But let’s get back to what was going on in Cincinnati. As promised the woman at the pawn shop called and advised that the coins were ready, even promised that she had a surprise. So filled with excitement, I threw on some clothes that morning and got to walking. It wasn’t far, as the shitty motel the NEW put me up in was two blocks away from the pawn shop, but a walk is a walk, and the exercise is always a good way to work off some calories, not that exercise is really a problem for me.
As the bell rang and the door swung open, the pungent smell of the shop assaulted my every poor, and there behind the counter, the ugly ass woman stood. Her toothless smile made me want to laugh, but then most women who think they are something they are not make me want to laugh. Thus the comparison of her to Valora. Don’t get me wrong, Valora is one hot piece of tale, but she has the personality of a pair of flip flops with that little toe thing. When you see them you go, ‘what a good fucking idea’ then you get close and go, ‘wow this really isn’t very good is it?’
“Great you made it.” Her smile widened even more, and for a moment she looked like a little dog ready to wet her pants. Thankfully she didn’t, but the whole concept wasn’t really something that would be too unbelievable. “Let me grab the coins.” She winked and ran to the back, the best decision she had mad in my presence since my first arrival three days earlier.
Moments later she emerged, large brown back in her hand, and the first thought that came to mind, that’s not 100 coins, that’s many more. “Looks like more than 100 coins to me.” The words came out as she lay the bag of coins on the table, a smile gracing her face as she saw the look of confusion on my face.
“Well we had so much gold, that what we did was take what it would cost to do this, and then mint as many coins as we could.” She paused for a moment, like there was more to say. “This is just the first bag. Now what we did is took some scrap metals, made the coin out of that, and then created the seal of the title out of the gold. Doing this allowed us to make over 100,000 coins.” Her smile widened as my eyes did the same.
“Did you say 100,000?” Not going to lie, my voice shook a bit as the implications processed through my mind. “Let me see this coin.” And with that she poured the bag of coins out onto the counter. “This doesn’t look like 100,000.”
“It’s not, this is about 20,000, and there are four more bags in the back.” She winked at me, and for a moment vomit rose up in my mouth. Thankfully I could kick it back and go on with everything that was before me.
“Bring them all out, and tie the bags together, I have a long walk home.” Minutes passed but the job got done. As a memento for myself, one of the coins was slipped into my pocket, and the other bags grasped in my hands.
“Want some help with that?” She asked with a look of shock on her face. Never did she imagine that I planned to just walk out the door with these, and to carry them home none the less.
“I’m good.” For the first time I shot her a smile, and her cheeks turned red. What a shock, a woman thinking that she has any chance of doing anything with me. No, my sexuality isn’t in challenge, but my resolve precludes me from the idea of sex and women right now. Distractions are not needed when on the quest to show the world you are the best wrestler to ever walk into the ring.
As you can guess the coins were taken home, left at the motel and their distribution plan already rumbled around in my head. But for the moment after getting the coins, the goal moved to the second part of my plan, the trophy that would replace the now destroyed NEW Title. Hence, Wal-Mart.
Why Wal-Mart you ask? Well I am glad you asked. Because Wal-Mart carries the best line of shitty toys in the world, and they are cheap, and that’s exactly what is needed for the new NEW Champion trophy. Got if figured out yet? Did you guess that my plan is to buy a plastic NEW Title toy? Well if you did then damn you are a smart one, and if you didn’t, well don’t worry, you are still three levels of intelligence above Valora.
So now that you know the plan was to get a plastic NEW World Title and use that to replace the now melted and destroyed original, it’s clear we can skip that story and move right on into the plan for the coins. Do you remember what the coin was supposed to say? Well let’s do a refresher just in case.
This coin though different than what was originally asked for, is still pretty damn good, hell maybe even better than the original idea. About the size of a silver dollar, this coin was struck from scrap metal, with a piece of the NEW World title affixed to one side of it. On the opposite side the words, ‘my own little piece of the NEW World Title,’ where inscribed on it.
Now why would anyone do this you might ask? Well it’s really simple, All anyone cares about is that damn title, the idea of being called champion. Valora has said so much since her arrival in the NEW, and now she can have her own piece of the NEW World Title, like everyone else in the locker room, hell like everyone else in the arena that night. The simple fact is, the NEW Title means nothing, it’s simply a trophy, and nothing more.
Title’s don’t make you best, beating everyone you get in the ring with makes you the best, and I have already made the mistake of letting her win a match in the past. But Tucker is gone, and there will be no more laying down for her. At Ignite I walk out as the winner of my match, nothing more, nothing less, just one step closer to being the best damn wrestler this industry has ever seen.
Ok rant aside, let’s get down to business and talk about how the coins will be distributed. Of course Jesse Styles will get one, he deserves it, hell everyone deserves it so everyone gets one. Fans will get one when they enter the arena, and every wrestler will find one in their locker room. In essence everyone will be NEW World Champion, and Valora will have nothing left but to step into the ring with a man that she doesn’t know.
I may not know my past, but I know my future, and I know where my destiny leads. After Ignite Valora will know too!
Closing the book, the young man sat for a moment wide eyed. Colt was not the same man he began with at the first chapter. This man was different, resolved, a man with a destiny, a plan, and a way to get to what he wanted even if it meant stepping on everyone in his way. Colt was not happy being a champion; he wanted to clearly be the best wrestler in the industry, the best wrestler in NEW, PERIOD!
