"It's strange, the things we remember and the things our minds choose to forget from our childhood. I can remember like it was only yesterday, scratching and crawling through the filth and decay... the hideous blackness surrounding me... the cold rush of night air washing over me as I broke the surface of my mind. Every object once-familiar loomed alien. It was as if while I'd been sleeping, somebody stole the world. Sometimes fractured images flicker through my mind, disconnected from reality; forgotten memories or hallucinations. . . I don't know. I feel like a ghost haunting my own dreams; A dead soul in search of itself. That was the moment when I discovered my Koresh Heritage."
Emily Koresh.
It was like the fairy tale wolf from some kind of Grimm tale, the city swallowed it whole. She went poking around its belly searching for him hoping it would cough him up somewhere along the line. When she had come off of the highway and had driven into the shadow of the overpass and then she had been suddenly surrounded by metal hulks of impossible sizes.
Despite the city’s halo, the darkness was perfect at night, and she had found it easier to find her way by the tattoo of rain on the old steel than the streetlights in the far distant. This was a graveyard of sorts, an elephant graveyard. This was where old airplanes and constructive equipment came to die. It was here they were gutted and dumped.
Emily shone a light and found cyclopean carcasses of military and civilian aircraft, cranes, even oil derricks. He had brought her here before. This was where they had hidden out when they needed to lie low when they came looking for them. She pulled her coat around her more as the cold was evident.
This graveyard of sorts was poorly guarded and unused. They stayed here making themselves at home whilst the long alleys between corpses created bone-chilling winds.
Her brother Alexander had left her. He hadn’t done that to her ever before. He was always there for his little sister but he had changed recently. Ever since he had got together with those dastardly Unstable hoodlums he hadn’t paid her as much attention.
She didn’t know why he had had the audacity to leave her, his flesh and blood sister to? Now she had to find him. She had to search all of their old haunts but she always seeming to be a step or two to late as he’s just been there.
Emily couldn’t help how she felt about it. It had pissed her off that he had done this to her but she will find him and sort it all out. There were people all around this world that owed her family favours who were searching for him; her feelers were stretched out across this planet creeping into every crevasse trying to find her brother.
“I will find you Alexander. Mark my words.”
Being stronger than anyone thinks is what she prides herself in; He can hold this imaginary shield around her keeping the rest of the world out. It had stopped the world trying to break through the shell. Pugh had tried this week on Ignite but it didn’t sit well with her. It didn’t feel right.
No, Pugh trying to be sweet came off as kind of creepy. He came across like a weird Uncle who told you after you sucked his dick that it was our little secret and that the rest of the family wouldn’t understand our special bond. Not that Pugh’s like that but with him trying to be sweet is really weird.
She thought over his offer. It was tempting. Yes it is. The match that he had talked about, now that was something to think about; as she sat here amongst these corpses from the past but it was the sort of thing that her brother was known for; Not little old her.
Pugh had been nice when he had tried to comfort Emily in her moment of weakness but she knows what he is really like. There was some ulterior motive to his madness; probably trying to get into her knickers. Who knows what goes through that brain of his. Does he? Probably not, but who cares.
Emily sighed as she looked out of the carcass of what used to be an aircraft. It was very similar to the one that Colt had thrown her brother out of to get his fingers on Alexander’s NEW World Heavyweight Championship belt.
She couldn’t believe that Alex had let him do that to him. He was Alexander Koresh, he was Nocturnal, he was the Sadistic Bastard and he let that mere mortal Colt defeat him. Something must be wrong with him if he let that happen to him. He cannot be himself.
A noise broke the silence. Emily reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone. Her slim, manicured fingers pressed the glowing buttons of her stream lined phone and she then put it to her ear.
“Hello?”
The voice on the other end sounded like it was coming from a wind tunnel of sorts, “Hello? Emily?”
She stood up straight, “Alex? Alex is that you?”
“No, it’s me Molly,” said the voice on the other end as it cleared up. “I was just wondering where you were. You are not off on one of your little trips searching for that brother of yours again? I needed to talk to you about our plans for Angelic Justice.”
Emily pouted as she adjusted the phone to her ear, “Oh? It’s you. Why are calling me? You know I’ve got to leave this line open just in case Alex is in trouble and needs to get in touch with me.”
Molly breathed inwardly, “Oh? But did you know that they’ve signed you for a match this week? And it’s a big one.”
“And?” Emily said.
“Yes, they’ve signed you in a match with that Sarah Twilight chick. She’s not too shabby either Emily. I saw some of her stuff from that WCF promotion plus she had a great debut this week……”
Emily looked around before she closed her phone, cutting Molly off and put the phone back into her pocket. She wasn’t afraid of a challenge but she more on her mind at the moment than some petty chick fight with this Twilight chick. Who did she think she was?
Anyway.
She walked through into the next aircraft. Some kind of elaborate chapel had been set up in the bomber. A crucifix of sorts hangs with thorns through Christ’s eyes. Upon the altar of sorts was a dead fish. Its head was eaten off, but it looked to Emily like a species that ought not to be from around there. A barracuda or something but why did she think of that now?
But she digressed. Why was she looking at this Church to some made up God? She had sat through a few of Father Nathan’s little rants when he was trying to convert her to this fictional God of his. Who cares what he had to say. She’d sat through it with the Holy Roller back in the day when she was growing up but now that she was an adult why did she have to sit through it now.
Emily knew of this Twilight chick but she didn’t rate her. This weird Wiccan red head has come into New Edge Wrestling using the power of the pussy to get what she wants. But she doesn’t know how to truly use that power. How could she? Word is that she was still a virgin so how could she know how to control people with the pussy between her legs?
The corner of her mouth lifted in a contemptuous smile as she picked up her mobile once again. She fast dialled a number in it.
“Alex……Alex, its Emily. I know I’ve left lots of message but can you get back to me just to put my mind at rest. I need to know you are okay and that you’ve not done anything stupid. Ring me, anytime……..” As she hung up the phone she lapsed into silence and stood there, swaying slightly.
“Emily?”
She turned surprised by the sudden sound of a voice behind her. She half expected it to be her brother but it wasn’t. It was her cousin Jebediah. He stood there all six foot ten inches of monstrous muscle and scars. He was just here as he was family and she trusted him. She turned back to what she’d been doing.
He ran a hand through his dark hair that was damp from the rain that had been pouring down for the past twenty four hours, the masculine tower of a man turned his head to the direct source of the scent he had been searching for and in an instant a smile pulled at his lips seeing that his beautiful cousin who was dressed in some sort of Victorian era dress stood absentmindedly brushing her hair.
Jebediah folded his large arms across his wide chest the tall, dark monster of a man let out a low growl that he knew would catch her attention, he watched intently as the brush she held in her hand stilled instantly. Her body froze as her pale blue eyes lifted to meet his hard gaze, his eyes never left hers as he watched with content as she turned.
Emily places a hand on her hip with a roll of her eyes.
"So?" she scoffed "Please honey, what do you know?" she asked confidently.
He grinned with anger, a blaze burning in his eyes as he took a step towards her enjoying the fact that she didn't plan on running from him, he liked a challenge even though he knew she really wasn't much of a challenge at all.
Her teeth ground together and her fists clenched, “Anything?”
“I’ve looked around but nothing baby doll. He’s gone to ground. You know as well as I do if he doesn’t want to be found he won’t be. Anyway shouldn’t you be setting off for your next show? You know he wanted you to keep Unstable in order until he came back?”
She laughed and the sound was harsh and sharp, like black, broken glass floating on the night wind, “What are you saying? Are you saying I cannot control them? Do you think that all the work my brother put into getting them together in one place will fall apart just because he is not at the figurehead? You see they are not fickle wrestlers like those ass clowns in the Kliq and Style’s Mafia,” she paused as she sat back down. “No, each of Unstable was handpicked for the war that is coming. Can’t you feel it? Can’t you sense it?”
Jebediah shrugged, “What?”
“What horror has Jesse Styles wrought? What grotesque affair of terror and destruction has he birthed upon this industry? Each and every member of Unstable has brought cruelty and depravity in their own special way. Even Father Nathan can be corrupted,” she turned and looked at her cousin. “We don’t need Nocturnal to bring a fitting end to Jesse’s world. No, I can do it as it’s a war now. And people better keep their arms inside the vehicle; otherwise someone might rip them off and hand them back to you.”
“But are you thinking past Sarah Twilight with this whole thing with Pugh? You shouldn’t overlook her as the bitch has skills; She not just a hot piece of ass Emily. She’s got moves. You’ve not been as experienced as her match wise knowing she’s a veteran of the wrestling industry. But you need to not overlook her.”
“Overlook her? What do you think I’m doing?” she visibly changed gear as the anger built up within her small frame, “The oldest and strongest emotion in the world is fear Jebediah. And the oldest and strongest kind of fear is the fear of the unknown. And she knows nothing about me; the unknown is on my side for this one. She thinks that because she has hidden herself under a blanket of darkness that she can overlook Emily Koresh? No, I will not accept that. I should just carve off one of her breasts and fry it up for a meal. In Salem that bitch would have been burnt at the stake. She’s no Martha Corey. Burnt she would have. Much like Scarlet did to Aurora.”
She picked up the fish on the altar and started playing with it. Finally after a few seconds she turned the fish towards her cousin. “Hey fishy. Does Jebbie look angry?”
Putting on a fish voice she moves the fish whilst talking, “He looks mean.”
She kissed the fish and put it back down on the altar and then turned back to her cousin. “It’s going to be fun showing the world why being a Koresh like I am that I am going to beat her. Remember the last time you sat down in front of the big screen, leaned back in gleeful anticipation of a few hours of entertainment and watched as a story unfolded that seemed it would live up to all your expectations? And then for some reason something incomprehensible happened? Now this is what is going to happen to Sarah in this promotion. She believes that she is destined to be big in NEW, but she’s never met any of our family.”
Jebediah nodded, “But what about Summer? Are we going to corrupt that young girl? Do we really want to bring her up in the family traditions? Is it right?”
“Right? What is right these days? Summer is the same as me. Alexander dotes on that little girl but he left her too. She’s not even got Aurora to look after her after what that bitch Scarlet did to her. No, Jeb. After I’ve finished with Sarah there’s going to be a few home truths put out there.”
“I know but………..”
Emily interrupted her cousin, “No buts. People have to know that I’m in control now. And that I crave that power more than Alex. I know after Ignite Styles Mafia, the Kliq and Scarlet’s little crew will know what it’s like to mess with a real bitch!”
She convulsed slightly.
“Have you taken your medication today?” he stepped towards her trying to reassure his cousin. “Do you need me to get you your medication? Is it in the car? Emily?”
Emily reeled back, yelling incoherently, and then she lunged forward and bit his forearm; Hard; tearing fabric, through skin, sinking her teeth into Jebediah’s flesh. Blood splattered across her dress. Jebediah wrenched his arm away.
“Emily!”
Emily dropped down to the floor of the unsure what she had done to her cousin. “What?” Blood dripped down the side of her face. “What am I doing down here?”
Jebediah reached down to her to help her back up, “You had another of your little episodes. It’s okay honey. I’ll get you back to the hotel so we can get you looked at.”
She pushed away from her cousin, “No! I need to keep looking for Alex. Alex might be in trouble. He wouldn’t leave me and Summer.”
“How are you going to be ready for Sarah if you don’t rest?”
“Rest? REST? I can beat that bitch with my eyes closed. I don’t need any rest. I am a fucking member of the Koresh family. Doesn’t that mean anything to you any more Jeb? To me it means everything. I am going to beat this red headed whore’s ass raw. And pin her to the mat for the win. And then after I’ve finished with her I’ll go onto Kamikaze and become the NEW X-Core Champion!!!”
