"Come on Keelan, let's go!"
"No fuck this!"
The black Audi was parked awkwardly on the sidewalk a fair distance from the California Rehabilitation Clinic. It was early morning, and the cool Spring air seethed into the open car windows, and the sunrise gleamed through the clouds and began to shine on Keelan's face, but he didn't take any interest in moving out of the way. He'd rather risk sun cancer then have to give up his alcohol.
Lucy let out a faint sigh, before opening the car door and circled around to open the door to the back seat. Lucy squatted down and brushed his long hair over his ear, and gave him a kiss on the forehead.
"If you want to return to wrestling, you need to get fixed up. I'm a friend with Doctor Watts here, and he's going to take extra special care of you. With his help, you'll be out of here in a month or two." Lucy explained with a happy tone in her voice.
"He's only your friend because you were once fucked up like I was," Keelan began, but couldn't finish because his drunk-ass fell out of the car onto the sidewalk. A small cut appeared on his right cheek from a small stone, and the stinging sensation was beginning to do its job. Lucy helped Keelan to his feet, brushed the dirt off his stained tracksuit and slowly but surely walked him to the front doors of the clinic.
Rick remained seated in the car. He watched from his car window and as Lucy and Keelan both walked into the clinic, and the automatic doors closed behind them, he mumbled to himself, "Good luck buddy."
Lucy sat Keelan down on a chair, and walked to the front reception desk. She looked down at a middle-aged, curly-haired, overweight, black woman on the phone, and it didn't sound like she was on the phone to an emergency caller or anything either - not with the laughs and jokes she blurted out.
"Uh, excuse me miss-" Lucy began, but was interrupted by a big and inhumane laugh. Lucy raised her eyebrow. "Mamn?"
The woman looked up at Lucy, but then drew her attention away from her and continued her conversation, using her ghetto slang.
"OH YEAH GUUUURL!!!" "AYE SWEETIE NO YOU WORRY 'BOUT 'DAT AIIGHT?" "HAHA, I'M TALKING DOOOOWNTOOOWWN!!!"
Lucy was beginning to get angry; the demon in the cage trapped in her body is trying to break out. Lucy has had some issues with anger in the past. One time she threatened a store clerk with a knife because he pronounced her name wrong - just so you guys know, the store clerk was Indian. If that was the tip of the iceberg then we must be moving further and further down.
Minutes kept ticking away, until finally, JUST before Lucy was about to tear this bitch a new one, the black woman hung up her phone and drew her attention to Lucy. Lucy let out a big sigh, and calmed herself down.
"Hi-" she began, but the black woman leaped from her chair, leaned over the desk and grabbed Lucy by her blue and purple checkered shirt and pulled her in. They were now head-to-head, and Lucy was freaking the fuck out.
"Listen sweetie, Shaniqua no like when you try and interrupt her conversation with her guuuurlfriends, aiight? Now I know who you are, Lucy Schmidt, and Doctor Watts is waiting in Room 12 for a one Keelan Cetinich. Now I suggest you, go to Room 12 before I call my gang of thugs in on ya, aiight?"
Lucy was speechless, and Keelan had never seen anything like it. His jaw was on the floor as he had sat forward listening to every syllable in every word. Shaniqua let go of Lucy, and Lucy tried to fix her collar on her shirt. Keelan laughed, and gave an applause. Shaniqua gave a glance over at Keelan, before sitting back down and began to type on her 1998 Windows Desktop. Lucy, who was fuming right now, grabbed Keelan violently his arm and pulled him through a door. Room 12 was at the end of the hall.
Lucy knocked on the door, and peeked through the circular window. A buzz was heard which startled Lucy and the door unlocked. Lucy put her right hand on the doorknob - it felt very cold on her soft skin, but she opened the door and the two stepped inside. There was Doctor Watts, sitting in a large office chair. He was in his mid-fifties, he had black hair but it was beginning to go grey, he also had blue eyes and wore glasses. He was in the middle of reading documents, but eventually looked up at Lucy and Keelan and seemed to study them.
He referred back to his document and then again looked back up at the two. His face was expressionless and it scared Lucy - not so much Keelan though he wasn't paying any attention. In fact, he looked passed out. Lucy then began to feel nervous - butterflies in her stomach ... but why? She wasn't going into rehab ... not again anyway.
He was staring for a good thirty seconds, but threw out a quick smile, took off his glasses, put down his document and stood up.
"Hello Lucy." He said, and Lucy smiled awkwardly and said hello back.
"What do I do with him?" Lucy asked.
"Just leave him on that couch. Is he passed out?"
Lucy let go of him and Keelan fell to the floor. Lucy looked up at Doctor Watts and replied, "I don't think so."
Doctor Watts smiled at the joke.
"Just put him on the couch and you can leave."
Lucy struggled to put the slumped body of Keelan Cetinich on the couch, but managed to do so. Lucy headed to the door, but stopped and turned back to Doctor Watts.
"When will he get out, doc?" Lucy asked curiously.
"Don't worry - he'll be ready for New Edge Wrestling in a month or so," Doctor Watts said, and slowly walked to Keelan's passed out body. "But I don't know if he'll be ready for Jesse Styles..."
