An old style townhouse in downtown Chicago is where Alisha and I are situated on this warm Wednesday afternoon. It's somewhat of a casual setting with about two hundred others around us, all in differing attire. Alisha's currently wearing a white tank top, black gymnastic style leggings and white converse skater style shoes whereas I'm wearing a red shirt, jeans and black Adidas athletic sneakers.
The two of us survey the surroundings, as we have done for the three days we've been in Chicago so far, in the hopes that we'd be able to process some of the things we learn here for future reference and to answer the mini quiz that our school sent us on general American knowledge.
Alisha: It's nice of the school, to still give us assignments even when we're not able to attend classes. Shows that we're still part of their community.
I slightly laugh, seeing as it is a nice deed from the school, even if I don't really want to be doing school work during my wrestling career.
Jacob Yeah, it is a nice gesture from them. When is the quiz due back to them?
Alisha: It's due by next Monday.
I then nod in a thankful way to Alisha, who slightly smiles at me. She knows I don't want to be doing this sort of school work, and I know it's not her first choice to be doing this either, but we both know that this will help us in the future beyond wrestling.
Jacob: Sounds cool to me.
Alisha nods as I smile slightly at her.
Alisha: Yeah.
My look toward her slightly changes from an innocent one, to one which gives off an indication of lustful desire. It's a look that I manage to keep inside of me a lot of the time, but sometimes it escapes as one would expect when thinking about someone like Alisha. She notices this look, and gives me a cute smile in response, almost to stimulate the lust lingering inside of me further.
She knows how to make me happy, in more ways than just externally.
Jacob: Did you get the other message that was left for us this morning?
Alisha: Yeah, I did. It was just from my dad, letting me know that my Uncle Allen was going to come visit us for about three hours on Friday. He just wanted to know where we are staying, so he could tell him where to go.
I look at Alisha with a calm look. Her uncle and I get along quite well, and at least it wasn't as bad as I thought it might have been when I heard the message this morning. I do tend to worry about those things, even if me and her parents get along as you never know when bad news is heading your way.
Jacob: Did he say anything about what Allen would be doing during his visit?
Alisha: No, he just said that it would be a general visit although I think he might be bringing one of my harry potter movies down for us to watch.
She follows that up with a smile, seeing as she knows how much I enjoy the harry potter movies. I might be a wrestler, but I'm a geek at heart, which is another thing that attracted us together, as we're both the same in that regard. We love Harry potter and it'll give us something to take our minds off of wrestling.
Even if it's just for a few hours.
Jacob: Sounds awesome and just like our "movie nights" back home.
She laughs at this, as those "movie nights" bring back fond memories of what we used to do when we would go to one another's house, and just cuddle close and watch movies among other fun things. It's all apart of being youthful and fun-loving.
Alisha: It'll also help to steady your nerves before the big match you have against Xander Cross this week.
My emotional state changes from calm to tense as I hear her say that. I was trying not to think about the match, but I knew that it would come up at some point during our conversation. She's right though, it IS a big match that I'm in this week.
"Last week, the job you did was good enough, but you need to look to improve on that, if you're to have any chance this week," is the first thing that springs into my now rapidly racing mind, as the look upon my face exposes itself to Alisha.
Jacob: Yeah, I know it will and it's what I need...this match is definitely a huge match for me, as it's a chance to show that what happened last week was yet another step in my progression up the ladder in the NEW.
Alisha notices my look and grabs my right hand in a calm and soothing manner.
Alisha: Yeah. I know it does trouble you though, but you just have to take a positive light going into this match. Keep faith in your abilities, just like you have been.
Jacob: I know, and it's getting easier to do so every week, especially with your support...it's still tough to go into a match like this though, knowing that the pressure on me will continue to rise and that even though I'm gaining experience, it will only get tougher physically and mentally here on out.
Alisha then leans over the table we are seated on opposite sides of, and gives me a kiss on the lips. It causes me to kiss her back and smile, easing my nerves a bit and calming me down.
Alisha: That's definitely true. Xander's just another opponent though, somebody that can be beaten, just like everyone else that you have faced.
I nod, seeing as this is indeed the case.
Jacob: That's true. I know that what has worked in the past though, won't work against him. I need to make sure that I go out there and take him to every limit that he has inside of him, to let him know that even though I'm young and inexperienced that I can more than handle myself inside of the ring. It'll also help to make sure that those who criticize me realize that I'm not the push over that they believe I am either.
Alisha: That's the manner which you NEED to approach this match in. You can't let it drag you down, because you'll end up falling short in the end. It's just like what happened with Ruby and that group last year. You didn't let them push you around so why let anyone else?
I slightly shudder, remembering the torment that they put Alisha and I through, both inside and outside of the classroom before I made a stand and gave everything that they had tried to do to us, right back to them.
It was worth it, even if I got a eight-day suspension because of it.
Jacob: Yeah...I know what they put us through, and it's the same as now. No matter what Xander will try to put me through in the ring this week, I'm simply going to go out there and give it right back to him. I'm not backing down an inch from this match, no matter what happens.
The look that I give Alisha tells all she needs to know. I'm anxious to get inside of the ring and make sure people know just how much of a fighter I truly am.
Alisha: I'll be there, watching you as you go out there and give Xander a fight that he won't be able to answer.
Jacob I know you will, and that motivates and drives me even further to succeed. This week, I plan on making sure they remember the name Jacob Neal.
We share a smile, and continue to converse.
The time is now.
It's make or break.
I couldn't be any happier with those terms.
