Sunday will be hell, not only for the twenty-two others I will be facing off against, but myself. Since my return I’ve just been inching sluggishly, yet dominant, along the NEW treadmill. I have been beating people left and right, five fights in a row, in a dominating fashion, but yet not drawing too much attention to my self, thus keeping the target off of my back. But, after Ignite the target will be on my back.
A twenty-three person Royal Rumble, if I win Sunday night, all eyes will be on me. My streak will continue and I will of fought through and survived twenty-two others to get my shot at any belt of my choice. The only one off limits would be the World Title of course. Only one will survive. Will it be myself? Most likely not. With the right preparation, both mentally and physically, it could all be mine. It could all be right in the palm of my hand and finally. Finally, everyone will see that I really am a force to be reckoned with.
My victims: KOP, a champ, if take this Royal Rumble I could easily go after him and win the title. I destroyed him once already, what’s holding me back from doing it again? Exactly. Nothing. Numero dos, The Virus. Hell, he was unstoppable, he even won the briefcase at World War X. He was unstoppable, until he met me of course. Once I beat him, or should I say embarrassed and degraded him, he wasn’t the same after that. His career in NEW sputtered and he was defeated by everybody he faced their after. I was the turning point in his career here. Victim three, Shane Sparx. Former 2x NEW World Heavyweight Champ, Former NEW Tag Team Champ, Former NEW TransAtlantic Champ, Former NEW Xtreme Champ, yada yada yada. You get the point. I’ve held one of those belts, the Tag Team Championship, so as you can see leading up to this match, I was the underdog, so to say. I wasn’t good enough to be in the same ring as him. But look what happened he was defeated with ease.
Number four. Wait, there’s more you say? Of course. Molly Mayhem.I defeated her easily and embarrassed her in front of the world at Kamikaze in a Chained at the Wrist Match. She even had an advantage. The bitch had been in prison and she was bragging about beating me with her experience. Then what happened? She was struck down by none other than myself. Is that all that’s on my list? Of course not, but the rest aren’t important enough to list. One of my very losses came to, Roger Wright. You see Roger is better than every single individual in this Royal Rumble. He fought to beat me and it barely happened. So, if I don’t win at the Special Five Year Anniversary Show, I will consider it a disappointment. I’ve faced far better than anyone I will be facing on Sunday.
The trio was cruising down an open highway on there way to Detroit, Michigan in Lost’s brand new, sea foam colored Ford F-150. “Lost. How the fuck is it alright in your head to buy this brand new truck, but you can’t even get a decent house in Chicago?” Shannon says.
“It’s all planned out with the slightest of precision. Listen here dumbass. Why would I get a big, fancy, brand spanking new house? When I spend maybe one night there a week?”
“Well, why get a nice Ford? When you take an airplane almost everywhere. Huh? Exactly, not so smart anymore.”
Lost just rolls his eyes as Malory is just listening in the backseat. Suddenly Malory questions, “So who do you think is going to be your toughest opponent this week?”
Lost ponders for a bit. “That’s definitely a tough one. There’s so many people that I’ve never faced, let alone watched. Because there’s so many of them. I’d have to say Drake Blake will be up there, but definitely not the most difficult because I’ve been in there with him. He’s the one who charred my backside, all the way from my ankles to the back of my head.”
Shannon pipes up, “So who is it?”
“Damn. I can’t remember all twenty-two of them so off the top of my head, Father Nathan and Judas. Why you ask? Well Father Nathan comes off as not so threatening talked all religious and spiritual, but that guy is pretty damn scrappy. And Judas he’s just fucked up and sadistic.”
Malory nods her head in approval of his answer. “In this match your nothing special, though. Every person in this match is talented.”
“Oh, I definitely know that. I wouldn’t go as far to say that, I mean we got Molly Mayhem in this match if you remember correctly. I mean, she WAS the first woman to ever hold the NEW Worl Title, but she’s a washed up old hag.” Shannon and Lost just chuckle as Malory looks at them with a look of seriousness. Suddenly Lost breaks the silence. “We’re finally in Michigan. We’re getting closer.”
Shannon then questioned, “So do you have any goals going into this match? Besides winning it of course. What are we going to do after you win it?”
“Well, it would be nice to eliminate the most participants. Man, if I win we are gonna party hard. Of course no alcohol or anything illegal for me, but we’ll definitely have a good time. Then I’m going to cash in my title shot at Justice and probably win that match too,” he says with a smirk of sure confidence.
“I think you’ll be a big target for your competition. You’ve notched five victories in a row and all of them in dominating fashion. It’s going to take more than one person to take you out of the ring, so everyone is going to have to gang up on you. Finelli is the only one who has a chance of taking you out by himself,” Malory says trying to get in on the conversation of wrestling, which she obviously doesn’t know much about.
“I see myself as more of the dark horse. People know I’m on fire, but frankly they don’t care. No one’s worried about me going into this. They’re worried about the Xandor Cross’, the Father Nathan’s, the “Sick” Drake Blake’s and the Judas Dathan’s. The guys who are outgoing and put themselves out there. I’m not like that I keep to myself and that’s the way I like it. I don’t think it will be a major issue. I could take on any of them one on one.”
“Hon. How will you react if you lose?”
“Not a problem I won’t lose. If I did so I would react how I do every loss. You probably wouldn’t want to talk to me at all that week, but when I step out on that ramp for my next match it will all be behind me and I will be motivated for that very moment.”
“How about the rest of the line-up? Jesse just trying to get as much money as he can in a month? Pretty much just another Pay-per-view.”
“I haven’t seen the rest of the card. You just told me about my match. You can’t blame his money hungry ass, he’s managed one of the most successful and talent filled companies for five years. I was there for the beginning of it all and it’s been a real honor. To think I was twenty-three when I had my first match in New Edge Wrestling. I’ve been through alot of shit since and matured leaps and bounds since then. I’ve held the Tag Team Championship, been in some historic and epic matches, and even ruined my life only to recover it again. Three years later. All this happened because New Edge Wrestling. So I don’t see why he shouldn’t be a prick and make as much money as he can. The more he makes, the more I make. What are the other matches on the card?”
Malory reads the list off of her phone. “There’s a Styles Challenge Tag Match between the team of Blitz and Jacob Neal against Bobby Backdoor and making his return Jason Scene.”
“I don’t know what the hell a Styles Challenge match is but I’ve heard Jason Scene is an animal inside that ring.”
“Next, we have a Youngblood Title match between Davey and Dixie.”
“How the hell does he get a title shot? He’s won like four matches against nobodies since his return.”
“Oh, I was thinking the same thing. Now will you stop interrupting me and let me finish? Hall of Fame Showdown between Roger and Vanessa. Hall of Fame Showdown between Haz and Shane Sparx.”
Now Shannon interrupts her in the middle of her listing. “Shane Sparx? In a Hall of Fame Showdown? Isn’t that who you just destroyed last week, Lost?”
Malory clears her throat. “Yes, it is. Now stop! We have an Omega’s Laws Match between Omega and Kronin versus Jesse and KOP. Next, we have a match between the returning Batroy versus Kiefy. A TransAtlantic Title match where Al is defending his belt against PJ. A Flaming Barbed Wire match between Scarlet and Valora.”
“Oh that one should be hot!” Shannon bursts out interrupting Malory once again. Lost turns and winks at Shannon, receiving a glare from Malory.
Continuing on, “A Hardcore Rules Submission Match with Johnny and Slater. Insane Rules Match. Pugh against Seth Iser. Straight Jacket Match between Noc and Cera. And finally an Underground World Title Match with Inkt defending his belt against Hunter in Inkt’s own club.”
“Sounds pretty stacked to me. Why shouldn’t it be? I agree with Shannon though that Flaming Barbed Wire match with Scarlet alone just makes it steamy.”
Shannon laughs and then turns to Malory who is giving him the death glare. “Maybe I should just shut up now,” Shannon murmurs abruptly to himself.
The cab of the truck went silent between Malory in the back being pissed off and Lost and Shannon up front trying to hold in the giggles like little school girls. But, soon enough, Lost looks over only to see Shannon asleep. He looks in the rearview and Malory is asleep too. Now that it’s finally quiet and quite lonely he begins talking to himself, somewhat of a pep talk.
“Sunday will be hell. It won’t hurt too bad. It won’t damage me. It will only be like a pulled groin. Not too bad, but it will be aggravating. All of those little gnats buzzing around me. The only way they can eliminate me is if they gang up on me. I won’t let that happen. This week is just gonna be a little dose of pulled groin, no torn ACL. I’d know from personal experience.”
