GIMMICK MATCHES
Blood Bath Match
This match is a combination of the First Blood Match and a standard Death Match. First, a wrestler must make their opponent bleed with excessive amounts of blood; a partially blood nose or slight laceration will not count. After this has been done, the wrestler must pin their opponent or make them submit, at which point their opponent will be forced to answer the referee's ten count. If they fail to do so, the match is over.
Buried In The Cold Match
This is essentially a Buried Alive Match, except the wrestlers are attempting to bury each other in a pile of ice and snow.
Casino Match
The wrestlers fight inside a Casino where anything goes and falls count anywhere. This match only occurs when New Edge Wrestling is in Las Vegas.
Variations of the Casino Match are as follows:
Tag Team Casino Match - The same as above, but with teams.
Crucifixion Match
Religious Iconography aside, this match is essentially held under Xtreme Rules. The only objective is to place your opponent on the Crucifix, which is stationed near the entrance, and successfully tie them up to resemble a proper Crucifixion. Obviously, real nails will not be used with Xtreme Rules. However, if Insane Rules are instituted beforehand, real nails and hammers will be allowed.
Custard Rules Match
Invented by Custard Creamer, this match is anything but hardcore. In fact, you could say it's quite messy. The ropes are replaced with long, thick strands of strawberry liqourice. The turnbuckle pads will be taken apart, and giant oreos will be put in their place. Finally, the entire canvas will be covered in custard and cream, making it very slippery and hard to stand on. The only way to win the match is to successfully throw your opponent over the top rope and to the floor.
Death Match
Don't worry, you won't literally die; not in this E-Fed anyway. The Death Match is basically an Xtreme Rules Match, except after a participant is pinned or if they submit, they must answer the count of ten by the referee. Should the wrestler fail to stand up properly when the count of ten has been reached, they will lose the match. With this explanation, it is commonly known by wrestling fans as the Texas Death Match.
Variations of the Death Match are as follows:
Barbed Wire Death Match - The ropes are replaced with barbed wire, and boards of barbed wire are placed outside the ring.
Exploding Death Match - C4 explosives will be placed around the ring and outside the ring on barbed wire boards.
Fiery Death Match - The ring will be surrounded by fire, reminiscent of an Inferno Match.
Margarita Death Match - The ropes are replaced with barbed wire, and the inside of the ring will be covered in broken glass, thumb tacks, and a heap of light-tubes. Furthermore, buckets of lime wedges, lime juice, tequila and salt will be around to pour onto bloody wounds. This match usually ends after the first pin-fall or submission.
Porno Death Match - Sex Toys will be added and mixed with the other weapons. This match usually ends after the first pin-fall or submission.
Taipei Death Match - Each participant will have their hands wrapped with tape, which will then have broken glass glued to it. This match usually ends after the first pin-fall or submission.
Desert Match
The wrestlers fight in an actual Desert, with weapons randomly placed amongst the terrain. Bottles of water are available as well to cure dehydration. Anything goes and falls will count anywhere.
Dive For Your Life Match
The wrestlers fight inside a Cargo Plane, containing various weapons and booby-traps. The main objective is to first unlock the loading bay at the rear of the plane, and once it has been fully opened, you must throw your opponent outside the plane.
Double Ring Ladder Match
This match only occurs at World War X, where two rings will be set up for the annual War Games Match. Above each ring will be a briefcase containing two specific items. One of these is usually the NEW Golden Contract Briefcase, but if it is already being held by someone, another item will be put up for acquisition. Once a wrestler has climbed the ladder and retrieved one of the briefcases, they won't be allowed to go for the second one. The match ends when both briefcases have been pulled down.
Electric Cage Match
This is held inside a Steel Cage, but the walls are electrified with high voltages. Weapons will also be strewn around the ring for the wrestlers to use.
Encaged Match
This match will be held under Insane Rules. The main objective is to place your opponent in a ten-foot cell outside the ring and lock them inside it with a chain and padlock.
Escape The City Match
This match is relatively simple. Both wrestlers will start inside the arena. From there, the wrestlers must make it to the nearest Airport, where a plane ready for take-off will be waiting. The wrestler that gets into the plane first, shuts the door and flies off out of the city will be the winner. Due to the time it will take to actually complete this match, the match will be cut-down with highlights, including driving to the Airport and getting through a shortcut that will take them directly to the Plane Depot. Once the match is over, instead of taking them to a new location, the plane will turn around after departing the city and will land back at the same Airport.
Exorcism Match
The wrestlers fight inside a church where anything goes and falls count anywhere. Weapons will be placed around the interior of the church, and the objects inside can also be used as weapons, such as the altar table and holy water. The match ends when a wrestler is pinned or submits; however, in other cases, the Crucifix from the Crucifixion Match will be added, and the winner is whoever nails their opponent onto the Crucifix first.
Frozen Pond Match
The wrestlers fight on a frozen pond, provided it is thick enough to stand on. Ironically, the match ends when a wrestler is driven through the ice into the ice-cold water underneath.
Graveyard Match
The wrestlers fight inside a Graveyard, using the environment as their weapon of choice. The match ends with a pin-fall or submission, but sometimes the match can end when someone is buried in an open grave, or if they are placed inside a Casket.
Hangman's Noose Match
This match will be held under Xtreme Rules. The only objective is to successfully place the noose around your opponents neck and hang them from the ceiling. Due to the dangerous nature of this match, the decision will be made as soon as the wrestler is three feet off the ground.
Hard Time Match
This is basically the Scramble Match and the Ironman Match mixed together, except that all of the wrestlers - a minimum of four and a maximum of six - all start at the same time. The match will last either 30 minutes or 60 minutes. When a wrestler earns a pin or submission victory, they will attempt to stop the other wrestlers pinning or submitting each other, or getting pinned or submitted themselves. This is because the wrestler who gains the longest time after a fall has been made will win the match. For example, if a wrestler wins a fall, but then another wrestler wins a fall after 10 minutes, they must last longer than 10 minutes in order to win. After the clock expires, the wrestler with the longest time, either with one or more falls, will win the contest.
Hell In A Cell Match / Colossal Cell Match
Everyone should know by now what the Hell In A Cell Match is; a large cage with a roof on top will surround the ring, giving enough space for the wrestlers to move around the ringside area. Obviously, Disqualifications and Count-Outs do not apply. Anything goes, but a pin-fall or submission must occur inside the ring for it to count.
In A Colossal Cell Match, however, various weapons are hung from the walls. These are weapons that are not usually found under the ring, such as a glass table or a cheesegrater. Once again anything goes, but a pin-fall or submission must happen inside the ring for it to count.
Variations of these Cell Matches are as follows:
Hell In A Cell/Colossal Cell Tag Team Match - The same as above, but with teams.
Hell In A Cell/Colossal Cell Last Man Standing Match - Instead of being pinned or submitted, a wrestler must answer the referee's count of ten.
Hell In A Cell- Ironman Match - The wrestler who has the most falls in 60 minutes will win the match.
Houdini Tank Match
Coming soon.
Inferno Cell Match
This is held in a Hell In A Cell structure, but the mesh walls are covered in flammable materials that will be doused in lighter fluid and set on fire. Some parts of the ring will also be surrounded by fire at random times. Anything goes, but a pin-fall or submission must occur inside the ring for it to count.
Overboard Match
The wrestlers fight on a boat above water. The locations can vary; a Bayou, a River, in the Ocean, etc. The match ends when a wrestler is thrown off the boat into the water below.
Pick Your Poison Match
This is essentially a Three Stages of Hell Match, but with a twist. Before the match begins, both wrestlers will pick the match-type that will occur if they win the first fall. The first fall will always be held under Xtreme Rules. Once a wrestler defeats their opponent, their opponent will be forced to fight in their selected match-type. However, should their opponent survive the match-type and successfully win, then the third fall will be contested in their opponent's chosen match-type. The first wrestler to gain two falls will be the victor.
Six Feet Under Match
This is a combination of the Casket Match and the Buried Alive Match. Firstly, a wrestler must be placed inside the casket, which is already inside the open grave. Once the lid is closed, the other wrestler must then bury their opponent before they can recover and climb out.
Specter's Tomb Match

Spin The Wheel Match
This is essentially a Three Stages Of Hell Match with a twist. A multi-coloured wheel with different match-types on it will be spun by the owner - or another official if the owner is unavailable - and they will announce what the match-type is before the match begins. After the first fall, the wheel is spun again to determine a new match-type for the second fall. This will also occur for the third fall if the wrestlers are tied on victories. Due to the randomness of the wheel, Disqualifications and Count-Outs will not apply. Furthermore, only two structures will be included on the wheel to save time: Steel Cage and Hell In A Cell.
Variations of the Spin The Wheel Match are as follows:
Tag Team Spin The Wheel Match - The same as above, but with teams.
Elimination Spin The Wheel Match - This match features a total of six wrestlers. Instead of following the Three Stages format, the wheel will be spun after a wrestler has been eliminated.
Stable Wars Match / War Games Match
This match will always happen at World War X as an annual event. A total of four teams, each consisting of three, four or even five members - depending on the circumstances - will participate in a large Hell In A Cell structure that will cover two wrestling rings. Two wrestlers from two random teams will start the contest, and after two minutes, a random member of one of the other teams will enter. After another minute has elapsed, a random member from the final team will enter. Entries will then continue after one-minute intervals until all of the participants have entered the match. The match will also be held under Insane Rules, and eliminations can occur at any time. The match will end once a minimum of one member from one team remains.
Tattoo Match
This match will be held under Xtreme Rules. The main objective is to successfully place your opponent in a tattoo chair, strap them in, and then tattoo a word or image into their skin. Each wrestler will decide what word or image will be tattooed into their opponent before the contest.
Team Bunker Match
Two teams, consisting of five members each, will be placed inside a large bunker or hangar. The object of the match is for all the teams members to leave the bunker or hangar before their opponents do. The first team that has all of their members outside of the bunker or hangar will win the match. Naturally, anything goes in this match.
Terrordome Match
Invented by Al Envy, this is THE definitive match of New Edge Wrestling folklore. Taking place inside an enormous Elimination Chamber-style dome with two tiers, a total of six wrestlers will participate. The layout of the match is as follows. The ringside area inside the dome will be covered by steel grating, much like in the actual Elimination Chamber. Two holes in the roof of the first tier on either side of the dome will allow the wrestlers to get up to the second tier, but they must use ladders that have been coated in barbed wire. On the second tier, a scaffold is built, but the walls and the floor will be coated in weapons, barbed wire and other deadly things, such as C4 explosives. Once again, the wrestlers must use the barbed wire ladders to get onto the scaffold. A championship or briefcase will be hanging above the scaffold, depending on what is at stake. Due to the violent nature of the match, it will take place under Insane Rules. The match ends when the championship or briefcase has been successfully retrieved.
Torture Chamber Match
A violent spectacle, this match will be contested under Insane Rules. Though it doesn't take place in an actual chamber, the match will be held in a square-shaped location with four walls. Both wrestlers will decide what will go on each wall, such as a spider web of barbed wire, an electrified fence, or a wall of fire. Furthermore, the wrestlers will each get to pick a torture device that can be used legally in the match, such as an Iron Maiden or a Vice Grip. This match can end with a pin-fall, a submission, or if one of the wrestlers is knocked out completely.
Triple Tier Cage Match
This unique structure consists of three small Hell In A Cells built on top of the other. There are openings in each roof which will allow each wrestler to advance to the next tier. A championship or prize will be hung above the roof of the third tier. The match will end once the championship or prize has been retrieved by the wrestler that makes it to the roof of the third tier.
Three Tiers of Torment Match
Three Tiers of Torment is the same as the Triple Tier Cage Match, but every tier has something vicious in store for the participants. The first tier on ground level will be filled with one wrestler's favourite weapons. The second tier will be filled with the other wrestler's favourite weapons. The thid tier, however, will not be a cage. Four walls of barbed wire will surround the participants if they reach this point, and a championship or prize will be hanging above the center of the third tier. To climb each tier and reach the belt, stacks of steel steps are built that will act like a stairway through each cell opening. The match will end once the championship or prize has been retrieved by the wrestler that makes it to the third tier.
Two Falls Of Honor Match
Invented by Matt Slater, this is essentially a Two Out Of Three Falls Match. However, a wrestler must pin their opponent AND make them submit to win the match. This can be done in any order. Sometimes this match will be held under Xtreme Rules instead of being a straight wrestling contest.
Ultimate X-Core Match
This Match is essentially the Ultimate-X Match, but it is held under Xtreme Rules, and will always be for the NEW X-Core Championship. If you don't know what the Ultimate-X Match is, the settings are as follows. Four steel pillars will be placed at each corner of the ring, and two ropes will run across the ring, overlapping each other to form an X. The championship will be hung in the center of the X. Ladders will be disallowed, meaning the wrestlers have to climb the pillars and use the ropes to get across to the championship. The match will end when the championship has been successfully retrieved.
Wall Of Woe Match
One side of the ring will have the fence of the steel cage attached to it, with a wooden plank used for scaffolding fastened to the top like a diving board. There are no rules, so weapons are legal and everything goes. The match will end when a wrestler scales the cage fence, moves onto the wooden plank and retrieves the championship or prize that is hanging above it.
NEW EDGE WRESTLING RULES
The following rules can be added to various matches:
TKO Rules
Brought in by Scarlet, matches with this rule can only end by knock-out. However, Disqualifications and Count-Outs will still be included.
Underground Rules
Created by Inkt, this rule is the equivalent of TKO Rules, but this rule usually applies with Street Fights, Parking Lot Brawls, Boiler Room Brawls, etc. Naturally, anything goes in these matches, which means that Disqualifications and Count-Outs will not apply.
Pure Wrestling Rules
Brought in by Jason Scene, matches with this rule will go as follows. Each wrestler has three rope-breaks to use during the match. Once these rope-breaks have been used up, a submission will still be legal at the ropes. Count-Outs will also be extended to a 20 second count instead of 10. If a championship is being defended in this match - specifically the NEW Trans-Atlantic Championship - the championship will change hands on a Disqualification or a Count-Out.
Xtreme Rules
Popularized by Vanessa, Xtreme Rules are the standard option nowadays for hardcore matches. Essentially, it is more hardcore than hardcore. Usually anything goes, but sometimes certain objects can be stopped from being used. Falls will count anywhere, and the matches can only end by pin-fall or submission.
Insane Rules
Created by Ryan Pugh, this is the ultimate rule in New Edge Wrestling. Absolutely anything goes in these types of matches, and everything is legal. Nothing will be stopped or banned, and career-ending injuries can definitely occur. Once again, Falls will count anywhere, and the matches can only end by pin-fall or submission.
Unsanctioned Rules
Created by Jesse Styles, this rule is the equivalent of Ryan Pugh's Insane Rules, except that Jesse will usually fight in these matches himself instead of booking them for other people.
Styles Rules
Created by Jesse Styles, matches with this rule are overseen by Jesse Styles himself. However, Jesse isn't exactly going to keep the match the same throughout. He will decide when to change the match type and will choose what match type the wrestlers will fight in next. Depending on what Jesse chooses, the stipulations for victory can change, but they will usually end in either a pin-fall or submission.
Other wrestlers who have used this rule have been Nocturnal, Ryan Pugh and the cRu stable.
Blood Bath Match
This match is a combination of the First Blood Match and a standard Death Match. First, a wrestler must make their opponent bleed with excessive amounts of blood; a partially blood nose or slight laceration will not count. The only way to win the match is to successfully throw your opponent over the top rope and to the floor.
